Took a gamble on these new buds and was blown away by the lovely sound. Fairly bass-heavy, but extremely faithful to ethereal highs and softer sounds that were never picked up by previous buds. Would have preferred a rounder sound, but for the price, not bad. BEWARE, however, that the cables are extremely sensitive, and every little body motion and contact produces Annoying Cable Noise. I'll be curious to see what others report about the K 340s.

I wanted a set of in-canal buds to be mostly used plugged into a laptop computer and occasionally to an mp3 player. I've tried the "cheapies" from the local discount stores (Wal-Mart, Shopko, Target, etc.) and they just didn't cut it. My music taste is very eclectic ranging from hard house to jazz guitar so accurate reproduction is important. I have no way to scientifically measure whether or not the sound reproduction is accurate, but I know how specific music should sound. These ear buds do the job very well. I like them a lot. They are very comfortable and stay in my ears for long periods of time without readjustment. The only criticism I have is that the markings on the buds for "L" or "R" are very difficult to see. I had to mark them again so I could see which was which. I've had them for two months now and they are working great. I am happy with my purchase and would buy these again.

A Sound Choice,

In Bulgaria K340 are sold for about $100, and that seems like a fair price for them. At $120-125 they are a bit over-priced. I read a lot of praise for them on this site, so I would rather concentrate on the things that could be improved with K340 so that prospective customers get a better idea of the product:
1) These in-canal buds let too much outside noise in. People usually buy portable headphones to use outside the comfort of their homes, however restaurants, cafes, streets - not to mention trains and planes - are usually rather noisy environments, and some of these places also play music for their customers... K340 are almost unusable under such "normal" conditions as it is hard to differentiate between the outside music/noise and the sound you are listening too.
2) They have a rather "modern" design (uneven component surface) and you will soon find out that dirt accumulates in the small openings of the bud's body.
3) The circular form of the...Read more
