I have a pair of sony headphones that I like but I needed another pair of headphones. I have a home recording studio but I wanted my Sonys for regular iPod and computer use and I needed a pair for monitoring while in my sound booth. That was the intention for these but I like them so much I might just use these for regular use and use my sonys for monitoring. The sound is great and gets plenty loud and I can turn my computer completely up without getting a distorted sound like some headphones do. They are so light and comfortable that you almost forget that they are on your head. The elastic band inside of the head band keeps them right where you need them and works really great. Most headphones it is hard to get them to stay at the length you need.
The build on them seems like it might not last for a super long time but I don't see any reason they are going to break. Honestly I probably would not have ever considered these but Guitar Center had a Presidents Day sale and I was...Read more

New fav economy phones! Not in ear!,

An economical pair of circumaural phones that initially sound hollow and tinny when played at low volumes, but livens up at mid/higher volumes. Great features like single left cord, light weight, great fit. Not bright at all with decent bass. Easy to listen to for what I use it for: isolation while surfing- if you have a noisy enviornment, it doesn't matter how great your equipment is when you can't listen to it. After about 50 hours, the sound is amazingly flat and detailed without harshness.
As usual, it is personal preference, but also varies with equipment, impedence matching, head shape, head width. Generally, these phones have less edge on them so they may be better listening straight out of a laptop. Guitar strings feel really detailed but vocals lose lipsmacking crispness, and there's not much detail in the bass. Very efficient for non-amped used, but when amped, they sound fuller and cleaner and fast attacks (alternative rock) sound less muddy.
I...Read more

Well worth the money!,

I bought a pair of these for my computer. I plan on using them for editing movies and I have to say that the sound quality is impressive for this price.
I run them on a headphone amp connected to my external FW-soundcard and they sound great!
I'm not sure if they're good looking or so ugly that they start to look good. I've always liked Harman's sound, so I guess this would be well worth the money as well.
