The AKG K 272 HD's are pretty impressive headphones. Lets start with the good (I compare these headphones with the Astro A40's and using the Astro A40 Mixamp with both headphones). These are high definition headphones and they certainly live up to the name. The sound is excellent to say the least. The highs and mids a very clear and the lows are deep. The K272HD's are versatile and are perfect for music, movies, console gaming and of coarse monitoring/reference. I've tested these headphones with my PC, Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii. For PC users: even with a low-end sound card, the sound reproduction is amazing. I do have some gripes: No microphone and comfort just fails on these...well, after you get used to them, they're good. After about an hour of wear I felt an annoyance on the outer part of my ear and a tight feeling around my ears.
