Summary: Great headphones 2010-06-03
Comment: Just want to say that these headphones are amazing!
You may be skeptical about them but go with the reviews. The sound quality is amazing I even use these headphones while I run. They sound amazing out of the box and heavenly after a short break in period. A smart buy for the music enthusiast that cant afford 150$ headphones.

Summary: AKG K77 2010-05-02
Comment: The K77's are very nice headphones, especially for the price I paid (I think it's gone up since then)
I'm no audiophile, but the sound quality is good and I've had no issues with them so far
The cord is a good length so I can wrap it around the back of my computer to keep it out of the way, and still have enough length to move about my desk

My main issue with them however, is that after wearing them for about 3 hours, they become /extremely/ uncomfortable, to the point I just have to take them off
This could be for a number of reasons on my end and not the headphones, or maybe that they are simply not meant to be worn for so long
They are very comfortable for a good while before that point however

The bass is good, I haven't heard any crackling even at high volumes, and the audio quality is very clear
They have a very minor noise isolation effect, enough to drown out a fair bit of background noise, though this is in the vein of earmuffs, there's no technology involved

I am happy with my purchase of these

Summary: how closed is closed? 2010-02-05
Comment: I wanted a pair of closed headphones that wouldn't leak sound into the environment, or that would only leak very minimal sound. I do a lot of listening at night when my roommate is asleep, in the library, in public spaces, etc, so I don't want to unintentionally share my music with those around me. A couple years ago, I had a pair of Sennheiser PX200s, and those didn't leak ANY sound. I could listen to music through them at full volume in the crowded (but silent!) library during exam period and not bother anyone. These, however... eh. While they say they're closed headphones, there was significant sound leakage when I listened to a couple tracks at normal volume (confirmed by my roommate), and I can only imagine how obnoxious that must be when you feel the need to crank it up a bit more. The sound quality is great, but unfortunately, these do not meet my needs. If you need that kind of sound isolation, these are probably not your best bet.

Summary: Another Amazon Opportunity! 2010-01-31
Comment: My husband loves his headphones. Uses to learn bass lines for his gigs. He says they are comfortable and they have good sound quality for the money. He has had AKG's and has been very happy with the comfort and sound for his needs!

Summary: Disappointed 2010-01-29
Comment: The sound is far better than cheaper headphones, but I had bought these to use when my Grados were unavailable. Spending a little more money on a second pair of Grados would have been much more enjoyable. The closed back causes the AKG K77s to suffer, and I experienced a great amount of listening fatigue for the first week of use. After that, I couldn't take too much more and stopped listening to them for the most part, only putting them on when I went to sleep.
