These headphones are made for studio use, and that is what they are great for (I bet they would also excel as monitor phones for field or video/film recording). They weigh next to nothing (truly), and fit comfortably over your ears at the perfect height; isolating, but without squeezing your head. The cord is long enough to plug into your mixing board, amp or recorder and still be a few feet from them.

The sound is very clear. I wouldn't really recommend these for watching movies or gaming so much because the sound is very neutral with somewhat reduced volume, slight bass roll off - these are made to clearly reproduce sound and not enhance it. From the box, uses: monitoring; musical instruments; home recording.

If you are looking for comfort primarily, the JVC HARX700's are great multipurpose utility phones - great fit, full sound, clear highs with solid bass. The AKG K 99's are just as comfortable, but much lighter; and a bargain in studio phones for $70 or $80...Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Great headphones for average listening, September 6, 2009

I bought these headphones a few months ago for average use on my computer. Watching youtube videos, listening to music etc... They work great. My uncle has a recording studio and recommended these to me over Sennheisers. I love these headphones. They go around my ears instead of on top of them and sound great. They will eventually make your ears hurt physically after several hours but, in my opinion, most headphones will. These are great for non-professional use if you are on a relatively tight budget.

I purchased these headphones because they were recommended by a friend. He said that they were really good specially for the price they were. I never tried them on before, I just took his word for it. So I decided to give them a try and purchased them. As soon as I got them, I put them on and tried them out with several devises. I tried them on my iPod, with my Korg M3, for watching a movie and in Youtube. The one thing that I quickly noticed was that the noise cancellation on these headphones was very poor. Personally I care for this feature because there's always a lot of noise around my house and its hard when I'm trying to record something (since I record or pay attention to a particular piece of music. They are comfortable, I think because it almost feel like I didn't have them on... maybe because of my puffy hair. They put almost no pressure on you're head at and feel like of you move you're head rapidly they could slip off. The sound quality is decent, but its nothing to go...Read more
