Summary: Very Good Sound, not very long lasting. 2010-07-27
Comment: I ordered these headphones and when I first got them I absolutely loved the sound quality coming from the headphones. They sounded much better than my cheap Phillips and stock headphones shipped with my Zune HD. They provided a noticeable bass along with clear highs and mids. I was noticing parts of songs I had never noticed before and really loving them.

However, about one month of use the left ear went out, producing very little sound at full volume. I am currently impressed with the support that Altec Lansing is providing with the exception that I have to pay to ship the defective unit, which is clearly the fault of the manufacturer and not the consumer. (Read other reviews and you will see that it is a common issue)

I just ordered a pair of Sennheiser CX-400's to replace these and will make my replacement backbeats a backup headphone.

Comment: i bought these earbuds because i really like altec but they turned out to be a piece of crap. They only lasted maybe 2 months and then the left earbud would only work sometimes and then eventually not at all so these are a rip off i wouldn't recommend buying these

Summary: Tinny Sound 2010-07-13
Comment: I just ordered a pair of these and I am very disappointed. The sound is the worst I've ever heard from earphones. The sound is tinny, thin, and bass is basically nonexistent. Even the mediocre earphones that come with the iPod are quite superior to these Altec Lansing Backbeat earphones. I would not recommend this product at all. It is just terrible.

Summary: lansing earphones 2010-07-06
Comment: Definately worth the money. Great sound quality which is the important thing, nice but not overpowereing bass. The silicon earbuds themselves could be a bit softer. They do stay in place very well, better then buds usuallly do.

Summary: Performed as expected 2010-06-24
Comment: Good sound, good price, fits well.

Cord is very very noisy: With the cord in front of you, you will hear rubbing noise just from your breathing pushing your thorax back and forth against the cord! It is THAT sensitive. If you can find a similar product with similar price without the cord noise issue, go for it. This problem may be very annoying to some people.
