this amp powers a pair of behringer 2031p in a small project studio. this amp is clean, the sound is very transparent, and even with cheap passives my mixes translate very well. i am about to buy another one for a small pa setup. the only complaint i have is the fan can get a little noisy but that is only when i'm pushing it.i turn it off when recording w/mics.great product, art is a great company with a full line of yes, PROFESSIONAL gear.

Fantastic Quality Clean Power amp!,

The ART SLA-1 is a one rack space solid state power amp. It has 100 watts stereo outputs at 8 ohms, 130 watts stereo output at 4 ohms or 260 watts mono (Bridged) at 8 ohms. It has no 1/4 speaker output jacks, only banana plug type (easy to find). It only weighs 13.2 lbs and really packs a wallop! I used this with a Marshall TSL 100 while running it through a THD Hotplate and it is a nice clean power amp. I now run a small 1 watt tube amp through it and have the best sound I have ever had (mostly due to the 1 watt tube amp and it's tone). I don't know if it was originally designed for guitar but basically for anything that needs or requires good clean power it is a fantastic buy.
If you are looking for tube saturation you want to stick with tube amps but if you need a nice clean power amp, light weight, with absolute silent fans, high quality (transparent), and only one rack space, you just cannot beat this one for $200 price range!
Good product.,

This is a very stable and good performing amp. A good friend recommended it to me and forewarned me of the whine. It does whine but for the price, not bad. Solid performance.
