Couldn't believe what I got for my $ when I got these home!! Great range. Vibrant jazz listening gives bright, clear, deep notes in high, mid and low ranges. Bass is proportional, which I appreciate, but it's not quite as clean as the mids and highs.

The off-set ear piece shape keeps these buds in-place; they don't fall out when accidentally tugged or snagged. Ambient sound is blocked like shutting a double-pane window between your music and the world around you. Love that!

The cord is 2' long, but they also come with a 3' extension cord. Also has a little carrying pouch, to help keep them from tangling. Only thing that concerns me about this bundle of joy, is the cable is pretty thin; lots of twists at the jack might prematurely short this thin cord. However, they do come with a two-year warranty.

This is a great starter earphone for a novice audiophile like myself who listens to music about two hours a day.
If you like hard hitting bass, you like this ATH- CKM50A. Mids and highs can be overwhelmed by too much bass sometimes.
It is more booming than my old Pioneer SE- 205 headphone.
Only dislikes are the noisy, tangle- prone, odd textured, and fragile wires. I wish all Audio Technica products are made in Japan like in good old days. Maybe, I am asking too much from $40 purchase.....

I just received my order today. It seems like an opened item with damaged box and taped cover.
