Amazon.com Product Description

Specifically designed for digital music with wide program dynamics, Audio-Technica's mid-size ATH-M2X headphones are perfect for use with home and project studios and portable digital-audio devices like CD, minidisc, and MP3 players. The headphones use an open-back design that lets its large, 40 mm drivers "breathe" better than closed-back designs, eliminating unwanted low-frequency resonances that often color the sound from closed-ear headphones. While this helps the sound quality, be aware that it also makes them a little noisier for those around you--and permits noise from without to be audible through the headphones.

The high-performance drivers use efficient, low-mass diaphragms that are easily driven by most headphone jacks. An 11.5-foot cable grants extended movement from and around your audio source, and the .125-inch-terminated cable comes with a .25-inch adapter plug for use with home audio components.

Summary: Good sound, but uncomfortable 2008-02-23
Comment: These headphones sound great but hurt my ears when I wear glasses, and my hair also gets caught and pulled by them, so I don't really use them.

Summary: Unless your ears are flat, don't bother 2007-10-04
Comment: Tried these for about 2 minutes, then boxed them up. Apparently, Audio-Technica doesn't realize that most people's ears aren't flat against their heads. With no pivot capability in the vertical axis, these phones are held away from the front of your ear, while pushing excessively on the back part. Not comfortable at all. Don't waste your time ordering these.

Summary: Solid Product, Nice Price 2007-05-13
Comment: These headphones sound amazing for the the price I paid for them. I bought them as a gift for my girlfriend and she was equally amazed. The cord is extremely long and useful in places where you are far from the device you are listening to (ie. the computer, walking around listening to a CD boom box). The Sony headphones I have now have no bass, are starting to break, and cost me almost as much as these. See if I buy another pair of Sony headphones again...

Summary: Inexpensive, rugged, and an overall good set of headphones 2007-03-08
Comment: To be honest, the sound from these cans do not compare to my Sennheiser PX100's. They sound bass heavy and lack the clarity and detail of the PX100's. But to be fair, they cost half of the PX100's and are reasonably good for the price. They seem ruggedly built and are fairly comfortable. They also come with a nice long cord and a 1/4" stereo adapter. Definitely not for audiophiles but what do you want for under $20.

Summary: It's already been said, but I'll say it anyway... 2007-02-13
Comment: For the price of these you can't go wrong.

They fit well, sound decent, and are reasonably durable. I've enjoyed a few sets of Audio Technica headphones across their price range and while I might not suggest these to an audiophile for their iPod, they work great for when I occasionally want heaphones on my computer.
