Summary: They will break. 2010-09-01
Comment: Sound quality is good if you like a lot of bass. They can get a little uncomfortable if you wear them for over an hour straight. I like the look of them as well... but there is a huge problem. The quality is terrible. Simply put I would guess that 90% of them will break within 6 months and 100% within 1 year will be broken. My head is average sized and they broke when I took them off one day. Just out of the blue I pulled the headphones apart and SNAP, it breaks slightly above the left earphone hinge. I have had them for about 2.5 to 3 months. The plastic will just not hold up over time. It is a huge design flaw that was somehow overlooked. My warranty covers them, but it is a hassle and I have a feeling I will be having to do it in another 6 months or so. Monster needs to recall this product. Search "Beats by Dre Solos break" and watch some of the videos. You will not want to buy this product.

Summary: Great sound, crappy construction 2010-08-15
Comment: I bought these in a jam at the atlanta airport. I paid the $200+ dollars, but thought they were worth every penny for the great sound they produce. Well I have had them for about 6 months and un-folded them and they broke. The plastic band at the top just cracked in two, right above where it splits to fold. So now what? Can't glue them because it is such a weak spot. So now I have a $200 pair of headphones you can hold-up to your ear. I will never buy another product from dre beats. I will buy the bose.

Summary: Not What They Seem 2010-08-14
Comment: Bought a pair of these and within 24 hours, the cover or skin on the right earphone came off. These can be put back on, but only if you have enough patience and skill. The cover should not have fallen off so soon after purchse, although I know they do eventually with use. Anyway, this put a bitter taste in my mouth. Secondly, the sound was not of the great quality I expected after paying $199, plus tax. The sound was stronger in one earphone, but not the other. Hmm..strange. I would say, buy the Able Planet headphones that do help block outside noises and are much cheaper.

Summary: A wall of sound, great headphones 2010-08-01
Comment: There are a lot of reviews that may be on the negative but I will tell you these are some of the best headphones I have owned. Please note if you own an iPod touch you should turn of the EQ and make sure the soundcheck is turned on; the headphone will do the rest. The bass is deep, the mids are rich and the highs are crisp. Because of all the technology in these headphones they need no help from your ipod's or laptop's EQ. Beats delivers a wall of sound that is sure to please.

Summary: Don't waste your money 2010-07-29
Comment: I would have given this product a flat out "0" if I could. 5 people in my office received the Solo beats by Dr. Dre in January 2010. 6 months later (July 2010) and four of the five headphones have cracked beyond repair (beyond use as well), all in the EXACT same place. I can't believe that Dr. Dre would put his name behind such a faulty product. Look elsewhere if you want headphones that will last.
