But when I heard this I understood the meaning of the term "instrument separation". Everything is so detailed & clear, always have a smile on my face when i am listening to music with these. Bought the 32 ohm version so that I don't have to buy a headphone amp to listen with my MP3 player. They will reveal all the shortcomings of your source material so If you are planning on buying this only use lossless, Wav or MP3 320 KPBS.
Good job Beyer. If these sound so good then wonder how the DT990 (which are a grade above) will sound ? 6 of 6 people found the following review helpful: By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Beyer Dynamic DT 880 Premium 32 OHM Headphones (Electronics) These are just amazing. I researched headphones for 6 months before purchasing the Dt880's and I couldn't be happier. I made sure to buy the 32Ohm version so they could be driven by numerous audio devices, but these headphones truly shine when paired with an amp. They are built like a tank, but feel like heaven on your ears. I have a huge head and they are a tight fit, so I know they will fit anyone else with ease. They sound great out of the box, but after about 100 hours of burn in they really start to open up. If you are going to always have them paired with a high end amp get the 250 or 600 Ohm otherwise the 32ohm are fantastic. I use them for mostly video games and playing Bad Company 2 and God of War 3 with these are jaw dropping. I am using an Astro gaming mixamp and it powers the headphones just fine. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: Beyer Dynamic DT 880 Premium 32 OHM Headphones (Electronics) Amazing sound. I researched and researched and believed this brand would be the best. I had the fortune of speaking directly with a Beyer Dynamic rep who recommended the 32 OHM for my use- mostly listening from iPod/iPad. He also encouraged me that I would not be disappointed. I forked out the big bucks because I really love music and figured- hey, if they last a lifetime or a long time...I would be glad I had them. The sound is truly amazing. The clarity of all the instruments is there. The highs are terrific- the tingles of the cymbals- the strong and unmuddied bass- the clarity of the vocals. It is a real pleasure to have this high quality of listening. I plan to add a little headphone amplifier to boost the overall volume as sometimes I like it pretty loud. |
