These are the standard headphone in many European studios and broadcasters. The BBC, to my knowledge, uses nothing else. I've been using them personally for over 20 years. They sound pretty good for the money ($149 from J&R), although they are a working tool rather than high-end hi-fi. They are completely closed (to avoid mic feedback at high volume) and although quite heavey are very comfortable to wear for long periods.
