This review is from: BEYER DYNAMIC DT880-Pro Headphones (250 Ohms) (Electronics) I am not going to bored you with what you know already...it's comfy, good build quality, etc... I normally use the dt880 pro 250 for portable audio players like my discman, ipod, and laptop. I was hesitant to buy the dt880 pro 250 at first because I was not sure if my portable players can drive it. No problems with the ipod and the laptop. I don't use an amp. With the discman, I had to crank up the volume to max...Overall, I am glad I made the purchase. If you're worry about 250 ohm being not drivable, don't worry. You can easily drive it with the ipod or a laptop. I bought my from geartree because they have a decent return policy. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful: Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: BEYER DYNAMIC DT880-Pro Headphones (250 Ohms) (Electronics) I compose and make my own music, so when it comes down to monitors, I'm very picky. I was looking at different monitor headphones to use for mixing and mastering(AKG 701, sennheiser 650HD, Audio-technika ATH-M50s)until i came across the DT-880 pros. I was skeptical at first, so I decided to look for more information about these cans on forums and the like. Turns out these cans, though quite forgiving are merciless when it comes to revealing bad recording sessions. After a while of researching and auditioning other cans, I bit the bullet and bought these. when i first started listening to them, everything was on a totally different level then what you you hear on consumer headphones. the detail, clarity, and soundstage almost make you feel like your a doctor doing surgery on the songs you listen to..........The detail is that good. After some hours of burning them in with some pink noise, they didn't even sound like the same pair of cans i bought earlier. They sounded even better and...Read more 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful: Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: BEYER DYNAMIC DT880-Pro Headphones (250 Ohms) (Electronics) For a long time, I didn't care too much for listening to music on headphones. I had a pair of studio monitors (Sony 7506's and Sennheiser 250's) and they were good enough; but these Beyerdynamics are at another level, and I find myself shelving my old headphones and even the stereo speakers.Took me a while to get these. I live in the boonies, so auditioning different headphones at a specialty store is an ordeal I didn't want to undertake for some headphones. Instead, I had to make a decision based on tests and reviews. It came down to the Sennheiser 650, AKG 701, and Beyerdynamic 880. I ruled the Sennheisers out first because I wanted a flat accurate sound and not a colored one. Between the AKG and these it was such a toss up: each has its fans and detractors, and the reviews were written in such a way that it was hard to gauge what exactly was the truth. I mean, some say the sound is too cold and bright, some say it's warm; some say the soundstage is narrow, some, the...Read more |
