Amazon.com Product Description
Hear the full spectrum of your favorite music whether you're plugged into a computer, a home receiver, or a portable MP3 player with this pair of attractive Bose headphones. Stylish and comfortable, the lightweight headphones employ Bose's acoustic equalization techniques to reproduce everything from the intricate notes of an acoustic guitar to the full range of a singer's vocals to the subtle beat of a background drum with extreme clarity and impact. Meanwhile, the phones' TriPort technology adds the deep, full bass notes that make a song so satisfying without using the artificial bass boost found on many portable audio players. Fortunately for fashion-conscious listeners--and who isn't mindful of fashion when wearing headgear?--the headphones are also sleek and attractive, with striking silver ear cups and a thin, adjustable headband. The ear cups, which swivel slightly to adjust to different head shapes and sizes, are even coated with soft cushions for improved comfort. And at a mere 5 ounces, the headphones are barely noticeable on the head, allowing for hours of consecutive use. The phones come with a 1/4-inch stereo plug adapter and a drawstring carrying case for travel. What's in the Box TriPort headphones, cord, headphone plug, 1/4-inch stereo adapter, drawstring carrying bag, owner's manual.

Summary: great sound, comfortable fit 2006-12-10
Comment: I am not an audiophile - I do not have the precision hearing of a bat so I can echo-locate my breakfast. I know some folks are far more particular and can hear nuances in sound that are apparently not within my range of hearing. If you're like me - this review is for you.
Like shoes, it's hard to review something as a comfortable fit for everyone. I can only review something as being a comfy fit for me. Everyone's head and ears are designed differently. If you have a mammoth head or large ears, these may not fit you as well as they fit me. I'd recommend trying a pair on - they are sold at fine electronic stores and they usually have a pair you can try on and listen to.
First, I would try wearing them with no audio at all. Just stand there for 5 minutes with these things on. Do they bug you? If so, they're not for you.
Personally, I find the soft cups that pivot for the precise shape of my head to be very comfy. The cups envelope my ears without scrunching them - just surrounding them with the music or audio I want to listen to. The bass is deep - even with the volume cranked way up, I don't feel like either the treble or bass is cracking.
They're not as trendy looking as the miniscule ear buds everyone wears these days - but for complete solitude in listening to an audio book, mowing the lawn while listening to music, or just tuning out white noise while listing to something relaxing, these are nice.
My less than perfect rating is for the kinda cheesy-looking plastic and foamy headband. The headband is a magnet for dog hair (guess how I found that out?) and the plastic components just look cheap. It doesn't matter how good the sound is - when you spend this kind of money, it's nice to know you can enjoy looking at an item, too. This is why Sony & Apple do so well with their products - they work AND they are sexy to look at. These are just - eh. They're ok, but nothing to write home about in the appearance department. I know from their full-page print ads and infomercials that sound engineers and all kinds of research and rocket science goes into their audio equipment - but they seriously need to work with an award winning designer to come up with a better look. If they canned half their ad campaign and devoted some of that money to design, they could lower the price and these things would sell like hotcakes.

Comment: These headphones are being portrayed as easily damaged and broken, dont listen to tose portrayls of this item. i just went on a 3 week trip to Europe and i brought these headphones. i used them 3 or 4 hours each day, and left them around my little cousins who used them alos and they are still in perfect shape. they arent the most durable, but if not totally abused, they will hold up fine.

Comment: The headphone has some good quality sound output but with this price tag, the material should be of a decent quality...mine broke with a minimal careful use with in a year....

Comment: For $150 you can certainly find better headphones. If you want the Bose name (because anything that says Bose must be far superior to anything else, yes) then maybe you'll like these. Here are my complaints:
a) they sound OK but not great
b) they don't fold up like other large over the ear headphones
c) these don't have the battery power noise cancelling properties, those that say they do are totally wrong. I'm looking at the manual now and there is nothing about noise cancel here and I don't detect any noise cancel technology either.
d) they feel sort of, well, cheap
That being said, they don't totally stink but you can find better headphones out there. For the same price range, I suggest either the Sony MD-6 series for over the ear that folds, sounds amazing, and isn't noise cancelling or the Etymotic in ear series - they are like little earplugs with headphones built in.

Summary: Poor physical quality, but good sound 2005-04-24
Comment: After having these headphones for about a year, yesterday they broke when I simply took them off my head! I only use them for gaming at home. They do sound good, but for the price of these headphones, they should be made of better material. Do a google search and you'll find others who's headphones have also broke. I'll never buy another pair of Bose headphones again.
