This review is from: Coby High-Performance Noise-Canceling Stereo Headphones CV198 (Black) (Electronics) There is a few confusing reviews that made me unsure if I wanted to get these, I decided to get them and see for myself. The one review that perplexed me the most was the one talking about "external speakers" or something like that. These headphones don't leak any sound out, unless your blaring them but that is also true to all headphones. The other review was the confusion of how to get the battery (it takes one triple a) in, I cleared that up with the images that I uploaded. The right cup twists open to the left to let you put the battery in. On to the actual review of the headphones.
Sound Quality; The headphones have very good sound quality overall; good high, medium, and low tones. The bass is perfect to, it is not to over powering and it is by no means underpowered. If you play techno or hip-hop you get just the right bass to not overpower the higher treble notes in the song. No equalizer is needed to make these headphones sound excellent, they do that on...Read more 37 of 38 people found the following review helpful: By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Coby High-Performance Noise-Canceling Stereo Headphones CV198 (Black) (Electronics) The noise canceling feature is very easy to activate - a tiny toggle switch on the left earpiece. And the battery life is impressive for what the earphones do by way of sound deadening. The ability to cancel noise is comparable (high) to much more expensive products. The earphone design is springy, that means the earpieces clamp firmly to my ears, keeping stray sounds out and the tunes in. The earpieces are very comfortable (padded), and they fit over my jug ears just fine. The feature of a removable patch cord is really helpful because I kind of bump into things a lot, and the patch cord just disengages from the earpiece, and doesn't rip out of it like a hard wired patch cord would do. The sound quality isn't concert hall good, but it's pretty darn good even so. On old favorite tunes, I hear side licks I've never heard before. That's a pretty good test of the sound quality, I think. For the asking price, I can't see how you could go wrong buying this product. 18 of 18 people found the following review helpful: By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Coby High-Performance Noise-Canceling Stereo Headphones CV198 (Black) (Electronics) We already owned the "cheap" Coby version that works quite well. (Can't recall model 3). From now on, I'll wear old ones, wife, new.
Since this version has somewhat bigger ear cups, it seems to cut out more of the ambient noise. I should mention these are only used on airplanes. We both fly quite often - about once a month with a couple of those being long overseas trips. Neither of us have used the Bxxe brand headphones on a plane. Not about to spend well into 3 figures to find out when these seem to do very well. The sound quality is very good. Of course, in an airplane environment, you aren't ever going to hear the high quality you would hear from your home based sound system. This type of headphone is used 2 ways. One is to simply cut down on the loud, ambient noise created by jet engines. In this mode, the engine noise is greatly dampend, but you can still hear normal conversation as well, maybe even better. Two, you use it...Read more |
