Better than the included UE tips,

I used these as replacements to my UE Super.Fi 3 Studio foam tips (when they still shipped with yellow foam tips). These are now included with a new pair of UE headphones, and are a great improvement. They tend to stay in your ears better, provide better isolation, last longer (see next paragraph), and create a richer sound.
I have also found that you can wash these tips to make them last longer. To wash them, put the tips in a sock, tie a knot in the sock to keep the tips inside, and throw them in the laundry (DON'T PUT THEM IN THE DRYER). Let the tips air dry after they are done in the wash cycle, and you are good to go again. I've washed my set twice so far. They lose a bit of their elasticity, but they are still completely usable after a wash, especially considering it can triple the lifetime of the tips...

I used the pair of Comply foam tips that came with my Ultimate Ears TripleFi 10 on my 12-hour flight.
The sound isolation is amazing. I also used a pair of foam ear plugs that I bought at a drug store. To my surprise, the TripleFi/Comply combination works to block noise slightly better than the foam ear plugs. Compared to my Sennheiser PX450, which is an over-the-ears active noise canceling headphone, the TripleFi/Comply blocks more mid range noise so that I can't hear people taling, while the Sennheiser seems to block more low frequency noise from the airplane. For best noise reduction when I am not listening to a movie, I would use ear plugs under the Sennheiser PX450.
In terms of comfort or discomfort, the TripleFi/Comply combination is just slightly worse than the foam ear plugs. The medium size foam that came with the TripleFi probably fits my ears a bit too tight. Half way through my 12-hour flight, I started to feel pain in my ear canal. In contrast, the...Read more

Great upgrade over stock silicon ear tips,
October 29, 2009 JB (Eastern USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Comply T-500 Foam Tips - 3 Pair Pack (Electronics)
Comply foam eartips are a great upgrade over the stock silicon eartips included with most earphones / IEMs. Where I find that silicon eartips become uncomfortable within 60 minutes (if I'm lucky) or 10 minutes (if I'm not lucky or the eartip fit / design is poor), I've not yet had any comfort issues with the Comply T-500 tips.
One thing to note is that these tips have a tendency to slightly muffle high treble coming out of the earphones. This can be a negative or positive depending on how "bright" the earphone's sound is. The Comply tips also make it much easier to get a good seal in the ear, which is essential for most earphones to get realistic bass response.
(Note: I use black T500s with Ultimate Ears 700 earphones. In this case I found the slight reduction in treble to be a plus.)
