THE RECEIVER DID NOT EVEN TURN ON THE FIRST 10 TRIES, UNTIL I PRESSED AND BENT THE RECEIVER TO IT'S RESUSCITATION!
All I wanted was to extend my headphones from my iPod to my desk chair with out any wires- you can hear the audio but it sounds as if you are listening to old 60's radio.

This type of wireless headphone unit is the only one of it's kind. It permits you to plug in any headphone of your choice into the receiver unit as long as you can convert it to a stereo 1/8" phono plug. Every other wireless system requires you to use their dedicated headphones which in many cases are either poor quality or uncomfortable wearing them. Here the choice is yours. The range is not 100' but it is adaquate at about 50'. The system runs on (4) AAA batteries. Two in the transmitter and two in the receiver. The Transmitter can also take a 3v. Ac/Dc converter but is not supplied with this unit. This would be an added purchase but the cost of the unit is so reasonable, the additional purchase is not out of line. The system also works as an FM radio as well but I have not tested it nor am I interested in it.
Overall I would say that for an very inexpensive wireless unit that does a fair job at putting good sound in the headphones without interference, this unit works OK...Read more

-----UPDATE-----(1-12-12) After having some free time, I dug it back out to check it out. It's now fixed, after I bent and messed with the battery tabs inside both units(or you could just put a wad of tin foil at the top of the batteries). The positive nubs on the batteries wouldn't touch the battery tabs because of the design of the battery compartment. Anyway, the sound isn't bad. It transmits at the beginning of the FM band(which is why you can push scan and listen to different FM stations), but it is mono. Distance for me is about 25 feet between rooms(crystal clear), then little by little fading after that(though the FM stations seem to come in easily). Build quality could definitely be better, but it will do for now. ---ORIGINAL REVIEW--- I can't tell you how it works, since both the transmitter and receiver do not power on. Novelty quality.
