I have two sets of these (For home and work) and they are great. At work, I can move through the entire building and still hear my source with no static or distortion. This building has much computer and security equipment and the headphones have no problems. They work just as well at home, too. I would recommend them!

I use this item when my wife is sleeping, so I don't disturb her.
The distance from the TV (where the base is) to the couch (where I sit, wearing the headset) is about 10 ft. The reception is usually good, but sometimes I get a lot of static noise, buzzing, etc. Sometimes it goes away if I change my position, and some other times I need to change the frequency because the buzz becomes very annoying.
The battery life is quite good, but I noticed that if I leave the headset off the cradle, even if powered off, the batteries still run empty in about two days.
I wouldn't recommend this model.

Bought for my music techie husband for Xmas 2009 and he loves them. He doesn't use in his music studio but uses to watch tv in bed at night when I'm sleeping or to listen to stuff on the laptop and not disturb the rest of the family. Great sound quality. VERY comfortable on the head and ears. This is a good purchase folks!
