When I first took the headphones out of the package, I was immediately dissapointed with the reception. For the most part the audio signal was chopping with any sort of movement (walking, running, on the treadmill, ect..). Listening to the headphones at my desk was fine with minimal movement and the sound quality was better than my other headphones ($20 sony's). Before buying the headphones, I read a review online that warned against the faulty headband. I blew the review off, thinking that the user must have abused their set. To my dismay, my headband also broke several months after purchase. The bluetooth antenna is built into the headband and will not function well when the headband is broken. Overall, I would not recommend buying these headphones until they fix the reception and headband issues. 26 of 30 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: HP Ipaq Bluetooth Stereo Headphones (Personal Computers) So I bought a pair of these about a month ago. All in all, I like them a lot and would buy them again.
The good: *The fact that they are completely cordless is amazing. That alone makes these worth every penny. I can't count how many times in the past my hand has snagged a cord and flung my device across the room. I don't have to worry about this anymore! Also, it's nice to not have a cord slapping against the side of your body. The feeling is almost "liberating". *They have controls on the right-hand side of the headphones themselves. The controls are play/pause, track forward/back, and volume up/down. The volume up/down buttons control the volume on the headphones themselves so they will work with any player (gsplayer, etc). The other buttons will only work with Windows Media Player. The beauty of this is that you can put your device in your pocket or bag and not have to pull it out if you want to pause or change the song/volume... because...Read more 10 of 10 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: HP Ipaq Bluetooth Stereo Headphones (Personal Computers) I would give this a 4.5 star but because of having to repair the headset myself it looses a star. Let me start by saying that these headphones work great. They are discontinued now so jump on your favorite auction site and buy a brand new set for $45 like I did. Buy a couple of sets if you can while the getting is good. Even with the faulty headband they are well worth the money because I will tell you how to repair or prevent them from breaking in the first place. The sound quality is top notch and nothing beats having wireless headphones...
So anyways onto the repair... Even if your headband has broken in two this will still work. It will only take a little patience and $5.00 of materials from a local hobby shop. Materials: - 3/4 inch or 1 inch nylon tape (all hobby stores that have RC Plane materials have this) - CA (cyanoacrylate) the stuff that superglue is made of but I recommend getting some real CA at any hobbystore. Get the...Read more |
