I've had these earphones for almost a year while traveling abroad and they have held up pretty good. They do cancel quit a bit of background noise and the sound quality is excellent. The base is also pretty good. But the real reason I wanted these earphones in the first place was because I owned a different brand (Sony or Phillips) that I used while riding a bike or running outdoors. Moisture seeped into the controls and they stopped functioning. These phones have a more enclosed control casing and so far they have remained dry and durable. I have noticed a delay in the response of pushing the button and my iphone actually responding, but that has only begun to happen recently and might be caused by my iphone more than the headphone controls. I've typically had to replace headphones every 6 months or so, but these have been a good investment. I never liked when one earpiece cord is longer than the other one, I prefer symmetry. I have been pleased with the performance of these headphones, good sound with only the usual in-ear limitations. Remote works well for iPod control and the mic works well for all calls I've made and received.
I would recommend these to anyone looking for a day to day set of in-ear headphones with mic and remote.
