The Earpollutions do come in different color schemes and I was really hoping to have a nice alternative to my Panasonics for a slightly lower price with these. Unfortunately, they just don't compare. The construction cuts corners everywhere - there is very little metal and what's there feels loose and flimsy (though it's still miles ahead of Earpollution's own plastic-fantastic Nerve Pipes). The cups are very obviously made of bare plastic whereas the RP-HTX7 has a nice coat of ceramic paint (piano finish). The pads, too, feel a little soft and cheap but not too bad at all. At least the headphones are light as a feather and encapsulate my ears fully. They can really remain comfortable for hours. The single-sided cable is thicker on the earpollutions as well, which is always welcome.
The real downfall of the Throw Bax is the sound quality - they really don't do anything...Read more 4 of 4 people found the following review helpful: By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: EarPollution ThrowBax Headphones - Metallic Blue (EP-TB-MTLBLUE) (Electronics) I have another pair of EarPollution headphones, and I have to say I love both sets. This pair is a great size, light weight, and deliver a surprising amount of bass (especially using the bass booster setting in iTunes) I can't say I have any complaints for pair of 20 dollar headphones. Also all EarPollution headphones only have one wire, so you don't have to deal with the neck strangling wires that the SkullCandy headphones have. By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: EarPollution ThrowBax Headphones - Metallic Blue (EP-TB-MTLBLUE) (Electronics) I was looking for a decent pair of headphones to replace a pair of skullcandies I had which had broken. I have been pleasantly surprised by the Throw Bax for their comfort, durable structure, and especially their sound quality. These far outperform my old skull candies while being easily half the price. I might note that, while I've seen some reviews saying the cord for these was short, it is no shorter than any other pair I've owned, a standard length for travel friendly headphones. |
