This review is from: iLuv iEP311BLK In-Ear Stereo Earphones with Volume Control (Black) (Electronics) I purchased these headphones for a couple of reasons, namely the volume control and cable management. I have several devices that have great ear buds, but either the cable is too long and it gets caught on knobs and other objects, or they don't have an in-line volume control. Both of these features are nice to have. The volume control knob does seem cheaply made, but it works well and has quite a large range. The clip on the in-line volume control is a nice added plus, which also helps with cable management. The headphones fit nicely in my ears, and there are two additional ear tips included. Surprisingly, these earphones have a nice bass sound to them as well. The only negative is that the plug is not gold-plated, as indicated in the item description. While these may not overly impress the audiophile, these earphones offer a lot of pluses and are a great deal for the price. 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful: By joan_smiths (Pittsburgh, PA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: iLuv iEP311BLU In-Ear Stereo Earphones with Volume Control (Blue) (Electronics) The best thing about this product is that it has a volume control wheel, which is a real convenience at the gym, where it would be a big pain to keep adjusting the volume on the player itself. The volume wheel is combined with a clip, which is also a great feature for gym use, but it would be even better if you could slide the clip up or down the wire to customize where you clip it on. I usually clip it on my collar but then I have some excess wire above the clip hanging down my back and the bottom part of the wire is a little short. Also, the volume wheel is almost flush with the clip so it's a little tricky to adjust it by feel. But, I haven't seen any other ear buds with a volume wheel, so if you want that feature, you have to deal with its less than ideal design. I'm not an audiophile, so I can't really comment on the technical quality of these ear buds. I use them at the gym, where it is noisy, and the music sounds good enough. They come with 3 sets of changeable ear pieces,...Read more 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful: By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: iLuv iEP311PNK In-Ear Stereo Earphones with Volume Control (Pink) (Electronics) I was very happy to get my awesome new pink headphones and so as soon as they arrived I checked them out. No sooner did I try them in my ears did I realize these were not what I had hoped for. The first thing I noticed is while the sound was probably good, the large base of the bud prevented them from fully going in the ear. They had a nice design and could see that the idea was a nice fit, but the part to actually go in the ear was to shallow. I think the sound would have been fine, if I could have got them to go in my ear far enough to block out any other normal sounds. In the next thought I figured if I tried the smaller rubber ear part,(even though I don't think it would make it go in my ear any further)but as soon as I took it out of my ear and looked at it (not even trying to take the rubber part off yet) the ear piece popped apart. Of course my first thought was oh crap, these are super cheap, and thought well if they pop together maybe I could reinforce...Read more |
