Summary: great headset 2010-03-10
Comment: I've had this about 3 weeks now and love it. The sound is great (it is a bit 'bassy' - as mentioned in prior reviews), but you can adjust the EQ settings on your player (put in vocal for podcasts, etc..) and the bass will settle down. The range is better than I expected. My computer is in my bedroom and I can usually go 2 or 3 rooms over and the signal holds - even through walls - up to about 40 feet away! It paired to the iPhone 3GS with no problems. I had to get a Bluetooth adapter to pair it with iPod Nan 5th Gen, but it pairs easily. I've jogged with it both on treadmill and land - rarely lose the connection - it doesn't seem to be a problem for me at all - I leave the iPod clipped on my waistband and it does great. It does good with sweat - the only issue is that the earpads take a little time to dry out, but the sound quality has been great; I've had to throw away earbuds that I sweat in because the sound became muddled. The buttons are a bit awkward at first, but it doesn't take long to get used to them. Best to use 'vocal' controls with iPhone and buttons with iPod. I've paired it with my iPhone, iPod and laptop (using a Bluetooth dongle) and it's very easy to pair/use. The design is fine - I was worried about going 'over-the-head' after using earbuds for over a decade, but it's been fine. The only reason I gave it 4 rather than 5 stars is because it does slip around my head a bit. It slips a bit while I jog, but doesn't fall off (just feels like it's going to). But, doing push-ups, sits-ups or other exercise where your head moves a lot is out of the question - it falls off every time. If JayBird can figure out how to correct this problem, it'll be 5 stars for sure. But, that's a minor issue for me and I think this is an excellent headset. It's my first Bluetooth stereo set and it's great to be free from the wires. I was always catching wires on things, but not anymore!

Summary: Good Headset, although sloppy to wear while exercising. 2010-03-10
Comment: I have had this headset for a few weeks. My goal was to find a bluetooth headset that would be comfortable to workout wirelessly listening to my iphone, computer, or tv.

This works. Sounds good, although sometimes the sound could be a little loud. The range is pretty good.

The reason it gets four stars instead of five is the pads all get soakin wet from sweat, and who wants to put on a soakin sweaty headphone.

Summary: A good set of Bluetooth Headphones 2010-03-09
Comment: I received my headphones a week ago and have played with it for a while. Here are my thoughts on the headphone.

- Design: I like it, it's clean and easy and very modern looking. The headband itself is rubbery so not sure if that will put anyone off, but I don't mind it.
- Earpads: Not sure why but one of the earpads on one of the sides always looks like it's about to come off but they are very comfortable.

I metro to work everyday and its' about a 30 min ride. So far they work pretty well. Strangely sometimes the music gets cut off, but only at this one intersection when I walk to or from home. So I'm assuming something is interfering with the signal. No biggie though. Range is VERY Good. I walked about 40 feet or so till it started to cut off.

I paired it up with my IPHONE, and just to let anyone know the back and forward buttons on the Headphones will not work with the IPHONE, not the headphones fault though. It's IPHONE. I do like that it can double up as a headset and it let you use the IPHONE voice command so that was pretty neat.

It's a pretty comfortable headphone, I have a pretty big head I guess so I don't have the issue of it sliding off my head. Your ear will sweat a little after wearing it for over an hour. I haven't used it in the GYM yet but I intend to do so.

Sound: I find the sound to be very good. Music is loud and clear but I also fiddled wit the EQ settings on my IPHONE.

Good battery life, so far gone six hours straight listening and no need to charge.

Only reason I didn't give it a 5 star and only 4 is because, it's a great set but I'm not in LOVE with it. I wish controls were on both sides to make it a little more balance. No clue which side is right or left. But that's just me. It's definitely a great headphone and very happy with the purchase.

Summary: Good Buy 2010-03-02
Comment: I understand that no set of headphones are perfect. No gadget for that matter is perfect. If that was the case, then there would be no need for new technology. Hence I did not give this item a perfect rating. However, four stars is pretty damn good. The headphones are solid, they fit well, sweat resistant, have good sound ( I am not an audiophile), and they look hot. I can not understate the value of not having wires attached to my ipod when I'm in the gym. I'll never go back to using a wired pair of headphones. I have had these for about a month now, and only use them for the gym.

My biggest gripes about use thus far is this:
1; The headphones tend to fall off my head when I am doing certain exercises (bench press, core work exercises) although I do have a small head, so that may be partly to blame. I don't like having to adjust them, but the few times that I have too, is way less than the constant adjustment I would have to make with the sony earbuds I had.
2. The volume adjust works, but the song change doesn't. However this is not a hardware issue, but a an ipod software issue ( as I was told by a jaybird rep). So apple is going to have to come up with a little fix for that.
3. This may or may not be a software issue with the ipod or the headphones, but the bluetooth will freeze on my ipod (3G) and slow down my ipod, and I will have to reset the ipod just to properly use the bluetooth. ANNOYING.

Again, some of these things might be apple software issues, so I can not blame the headphones if I am not sure that they are the cause. However, I still think that they are a good buy. Although maybe not worth 90 dollars, more like 70 in my opinion. But then again, just finding a solid pair of bluetooth headphones that gets the job done is hard enough.

Summary: Sportsband - Don't Expect it to Constantly Slip! 2010-02-21
Comment: There are some things I like about these headphones. I like the way they look. They're fairly lightweight & comfortable. The sound is pretty good. They continue to play the music from the 3G iPod Touch as I walk around the room. Thought I'd have to stay closer to the iPod. The volume controls on the headphones work fine. (I knew the tracks wouldn't change via the controls.)

I had a heck of a time getting the headphones paired with the iPod. Very frustrating & time consuming. The "user manual" that came with these headphones is a joke. It's a tiny leaflet with pictures - no verbiage. That'd be OK if set-up was intuitive. Or, if operating instructions/troubleshooting support were available at Jaybird's website. They're not.

Once paired with the iPod, I was happy for a while. I bought these mostly to use while doing housework & walking the dogs. This is where they fail! Every time I bend over even a little, the headphones slide off. Bend over to grab the Frisbee. Grab the headphones before they hit the ground! I was leaning over a bit to tape up a box & they slide off then too. I eventually made them quite tight (as tight as they go), but they still constantly slip while doing normal activities around the house. Can't imagine they'd stay on at the gym!

If you only want to use these headphones while sitting, walking, or maybe running, they'd probably be fine. But, although they're marketed for active use, they're just not made for it. I do my research and almost never return an item, but these headphones are going back.
