Product Review

This headphone's open-air design lets you enjoy full, rich stereo sound without the boxy, "closed-in" feeling imparted by many closed-ear headphones. An open-air design prevents unwanted resonance from coloring your music.

While great for home listening, the JF40 may be inappropriate for public portable use, where the open-air design will make your music audible to others and will do nothing to keep external noise from interfering with your listening.

The headphone's 40mm elements and neodymium drivers are perfect for dynamic reproduction of digital sources, and a self-adjusting headband ensures a comfy fit.

A single-sided, 7-foot cord grants freedom of movement, while a volume control (with mute!) lets you adjust your listening at some remove from your source player.

A nice touch is a gold-plated minijack terminus, whose .25-inch stereo adapter facilitates hookup with component equipment. Jensen covers the headphone with a lifetime warranty.

1.0 out of 5 stars I sent it back..., April 15, 2000

This review is from: Jensen JW160 Wireless Headphones (Electronics)
I was replacing a 3 year old "as seen on TV" wireless FM based headset. These 900mhz state of the art headphones didn't even come close. Here are the problems: Headphones picked up a local TV station even with the base turned of. Very poor performance when used plugged into my TV's RCA type audio jacks. (why I bought them). Hissy and staticy walking around inside house (even close up). Tech support rep very condescending.I am certain it was the model and not my TV or house or locality. I went out and purchased the Advent AW720 and have none of the above problems.I would have liked to read this before I purchased. On the good side, Amazon is making the return very very painless. Thanks Amazon!

1.0 out of 5 stars Unbelievable Hissing, June 4, 2000

This review is from: Jensen JW160 Wireless Headphones (Electronics)
I don't claim to know much about elctronics, but I do expect not to feel as though I have a cobra wrapped around my head hissing in my ear. It's enough to drive you insane and would not adjust out. The stated operating range of up to 150` is a bit exaggerated also. Some static within just a few feet. This product did not meet my expectations when purchased at around $60, their MAYBE worth about $20. Their going back.

I purchased this too because of the pricing. I have never been this dissapointed with a tech product in my life. You cannot move more than 10 feet without static and interferece, I would like to meet the idividual who tested this product at 150 feet becuse it more like 1.5 feet if you want any type of reception or sound quality. At any rate I did return this product as a very unsatisfied customer. This was the first and last product I purchase from the Jensen corp. Save your self the frustration and head aches (literally) and spend the money and get yourself and higher quality product. Also... Read a review or two before purchsing, I wish I had.
