I am a dedicated user of JVC "ear cushion" phones. They are the best cheap phones on the market.
For about $10 more you can get these and they blow away the ear cushion models in sound quality. They are quite comfortable. Not quite as comfy as the Ear Cushions, but still very good. I have phones from Etymotics and Ultimate Ears that cost far more than these. I pretty much listen to them at home. They are too valuable to take with me!
Here we have an inexpensive set of canal phones that sounds damn near as good as the $150 Etys, which I love. I can wear these for longer periods without discomfort too, although long talk radio sessions still demand the Ear Cushion phones for pure long-term comfort. You sacrifice some sound quality but for talk they sound great.
In this price range, we have a new champ. I've been saying that if JVC developed a low-priced phone with a "better sound" mission I would buy it. Well, they did, and this is it. I got mine in red,...Read more

Sound is great, I listen mostly to rock music, so the bass is nice. I don't know that I have fancy enough ears to tell the difference between $500 headphones and $50 headphones, but I can sure tell the difference between $5 and $50. These definitely fall into the latter category, and I will be getting another pair. They're comfortable, even when I'm working or exercising, and they don't move around too much in my ears. So why only 3 stars you ask? Durability.
Bought these headphones 9/30/11, they stopped working today 02/22/12. Don't get me wrong, I love these headphones, but five months is a little short of a lifespan. Today at work I noticed the sound cutting out intermittently, whenever the headphone jack would move or flex basically. Pressing on the jack makes the sound cut back in, but I use these to listen to music while I work, so keeping the headphone jack in one position the entire time without bumping it is a little out of the question. 1 year warranty, right...Read more

The bass is nice and strong, but the treble is not very pleasing and the middle sounds too far. Over all, the sound is not very balanced. Have to turn the volume down to enjoy the music.
