I was not sure about spending this much money on Koss earphones, but I had good luck with the cheaper versions for just doing yardwork and casual listening, so I took a shot and bought these. I am really glad I did: I was blown away by these earphones. From the packaging, which includes not one, but two carrying cases - a metal one and a leather one - to the actual sound, these earphones exceeded my expectations.

One thing about these earphones that is a little different is that they are kind of large - not the part that goes in the ear, but the outer part - it is probably twice the size of the V-Moda Vibe and Sennheiser earbuds I already own. However, they do not look freakishly large, and with the adjustable inner part (the part that goes in your ear canal), it is easy to make these snug, but not too tight. The cushions are not the rubber "mushroom cap" style - they are foam cones. I think using foam, combined with the adjustible fit, creates excellent noise...Read more

I've been using these headphones for a few weeks now and am very satisfied. I always wondered if there was a difference between $20 headphones and $100 headphones and now I know there is. The sound quality is amazing - you have to hear it to believe it is coming from earbuds.

I'm really impressed with the noise cancellation - I wear these while mowing the lawn and don't have to adjust the volume at all once the mower starts - normal listening volume still sounds fine.

The earbuds are comfortable and you can adjust the diameter of the ear piece by twisting the knob. I admit I haven't messed with the adjustability much since I got them, but the setting they're on is great - very comfortable.

My only complaint is that they seal so well! Occasionally the cord gets caught on something and yanks the buds out of my ears, which is unpleasant since they're in there so snugly. I guess that's something I have to live with until somebody releases a decent wireless...Read more

I've been a longtime fan of Koss headphones, including "the Plug". The big drawback to their similar Plug headphones has been falling out or losing its seal with your ear (tinny, bass-free sound), which happened too easily. These adjust to form a much tighter seal, but to my dismay they don't have the same low end response The Plugs do; music seems a little overly bright with less low-end oomph.

It's still better sound than most other similar headphones, and the seal is good enough to isolate you from your environment. The cloth-covered cord isn't overly long and seems less tangly than plastic cords.

My big criticism would be the price & packaging -- they're good headphones, but the price covers a lot of unnecessary packaging and accessories. The two extra pair of ear tips are nice, the foam-lined oversize cardboard box containing the leather(-ette?) carry case and metal storage tin are silly and superfluous extras. These are really less expensive headphones...Read more
