Koss KEB70 Aluminum Isolation Earbud (Silver)

I have to have two sets of headphones.. an over-the-ear type (or around the ear) and in-ear-buds.
My over the ear type will always be served by my Koss PortaPro headphones (by and far, my favorite headphones ever). My dog recently chewed my old Sennheiser ear buds up, so I wanted something new. I thought I'd look into Koss given my preference for the PortaPros and I definitely don't regret it.

These ear buds are made out of aluminum, so they have a very substantial feel while not being too heavy. A smooth, shiny finish. Precision is one word that comes to mind when holding them.

The rubber seals are traditional Koss, the same ones as were on my $25 Koss earbuds. This is not to say they are bad, by any means. In fact, they are some of my favorite. They seal very well and can be worn for several hours at a time without feeling awkward. There are three sizes, I imagine nearly anyone can find appropriate comfort in one or the other.

The sound on these are incredibly crisp with a surprising amount of bass! I like to listen to music on my back patio that overlooks a busy road, and now I can't hear cars at all when I wear these earbuds, it completely blocks out all other noise so all you hear is incredible music. The earbud inserts on by default were pretty large, and it was a bit of a challenge to get the smaller inserts on... but not impossible. All in all these earbuds are a great value. I've owned many Koss stereo-phones and have never been disappointed, their products are quite simply brilliant and high quality.

I just received these today and I must say that I glad $23.00 dollars for them. They come with the medium tips on them and are noticeably heavy. they are the behind the neck style cords. the weight of the metal body seems to make them fall out easier. I switched the tips with another brand that fit better. After that, I was off comparing them to the apple old in ear phones. The apple has more clarity. These do have a darker sound and the vocals are rich. The highs are even but not as crisp as the apple or altec lansing. I would say that for the money they are good sounding but not my favorite. All in all they have a very even sound and good for jazz or very clean recordings, maybe general listening. Worth 23 bucks!
