Product Description
For nearly 25 years, the Kos Portapro has been a folding headset designed for professional listening performance with portable audio devices. With new MP3 player and iPod use, the Port-a-Pro is even more popular for those seeking a comfortable alternative to earphones. Elevate your listening with Portapro. First introduced in 1984, this high quality portable stereophone set performance and comfort standards for personal listening worldwide. Over the years, much to the delight of devout Porta Pro enthusiasts, we've preserved the original design and performance that made the Porta Pro a portable music icon. Today the Porta Pro remains the headphone of choice for the discriminating listener. Designed for those with refined musical acuity, the Porta Pro continues to be the most user admired portable headphone for discriminating listeners who prefer a light headrest over earplugs.
The Porta Pro features dynamic elements that deliver exceptionally rich, deep bass and a remarkably wide frequency response from 15-25,000 Hz to capture every nuance in your favorite movie or musical performance. Constructed from mylar, the elements are extremely rigid, minimizing mechanical distortion and ensuring exceedingly accurate sound reproduction. Neodymium iron boron rare earth magnet structures enable the Porta Pro to deliver greater volume so you can hear every note, even when competing against the sounds of a commuter train with a low-voltage MP3 or disc player. Oxygen free copper voice coils improve signal transmission and conduction for cleaner, clearer sound. Foam earcushions provide an open, hear-through sound that lets you keep in touch with your surroundings perfect to wear while running, at work, or while traveling. 4 Feet Long wire with miniplug Amazon.com Product Description

Summary: Great sound but VERY uncomfortable 2008-10-13
Comment: Based on other reviewers' comments I decided to try the Koss headphones. Unfortunately, these are the most uncomfortable headphones I have ever worn. I wear glasses which I believe is the reason. I have since purchased and have been wearing the Sennheiser PX200 headphones. Although the sound quality is not quite as good, the comfort of the PX 200 is superior. In addition, the PX200 block more external noise. I highly recommend the PX 200's to anyone who wears glasses.

Summary: Koss Porta Pro Headphones with Case: Best Headphones in the World 2008-10-12
Comment: Before purchasing my Koss Porta pros, I read many reviews from Cnet and other review sites, only to find that these old school, retro headphones were the best deal for the money. I can now say with complete sincerity and honesty that these are the best headphones one can buy for the money. The sound that resonates from these tiny buds is impeccable. The bass is rich and enticing, at all levels of volume!!! Its hard to find headphones that continuously produce great sound throughout all volume ranges, but these porta pros sure stack up with higher end and more pricey headphones, such as those from Bose. My suggestion, if your looking for portable, cheap headphones, buy Koss' Porta Pro headphones (with case lol).

Comment: Koss has always delivered the best value for the economically challenged. Their headphones have been in the family for more than thirty years. High end for the people!

Summary: Vey disappointed with built quality 2008-10-11
Comment: I was looking for decent quality foldable headphones and decided to buy this item primarily based on the positive reviews on Amazon. I don't know what these reviewers were looking at but for me it turned out to be an extremely poorly made product. Sound quality is relatively fine but the look and feel of these headphones is quite cheap. The plastic parts have sharp edges; the ear piece attachments are flimsy and covered by foam padding found in dollar store headphones. The adjustable head strap is made of thin steel strips and easily catches on hair on your head and certainly not comfortable to wear. Save your money buy something else. I'm sending mine back.

Summary: Suprising Balanced Sound for Cheap 2008-10-08
Comment: I bought these headphones last week right here on Amazon after seeing all the rave reviews for these headphones all over the web from both users and critics. With shipping and taxes, they cost around $60 - nice and cheap.
These phones have the best sound I have ever heard coming from such inexpensive headphones. The treble, midrange, and bass are all present and quite well balanced - something which I which more headphones I've purchased in the past did. I must really remark on how surprisingly good the bass is - its punchy and light, and not muddy at all. There is some problems with occasional background crackling, but it is almost completely unnoticeable, and might just be problems with my mp3s.
The phones themselves are small and, as their name implies, very portable. The folding option works well and fits in almost any jacket pocket.
The phones are quite comfortable, but can cause some fatigue during extended listening periods - mostly due to my large head. The "Comfort Zone" slider is quite useful and is good at alleviating some of that aforementioned fatigue.
These phones might not go with some people's personal style, but I personally think they look fine. Its nice to wear headphones that make you stick out.
Altogether, I cannot recommend the Koss PortaPro enough. If you like great sounding music at a nice low price, you can't loose with these phones. Buy them.
