If you check my other reviews you will find that i've been using the Triple Fi 10 for the past 3 years. I eventually wanted to switch to a regular headphone due to getting sick of putting foam in my ears. I basically tried dozens of headphones and stuck with the Sennheiser HD-600, Shure SRH-840 and Audio Technica ATH-M50. The later two had their issues and were not perfect. Just as I thought I was done with headphones I went into a local store and found this headphone. I took it home and was really impressed with it. It's very neutral and does not seem to do too much of any one thing. There is a lot of detail, but it's not excessive in any way. Everything is crystal clear. There is bass, but many many be disappointed in it's bass. It has a decent amount of bass, but it's not a bass heavy phone. If you want a headphone with lots of bass, look elsewhere. It has much more bass then say the Audio Technica ATH-AD700, but not as much as the Shure SRH-840.

Don't be fooled by the claim that these headphones are made for DJ's, anyone can enjoy the great sound quality and design that make up the PRODJ100. When I first saw these I thought the ear cups were a bit small and that they wouldn't deliver the promised quality. But when I put on the headphones and blasted some music, it changed my whole perspective on the headphones. Even though the ear cups don't fully swallow your ears, the overall coverage is enough to fully enjoy the sound quality.
Another thing that caught my eye (ear?) was the noise isolation. Even though these headphones aren't categorized as noise cancelling headphones, the metal/leather ear cups and power of the small speakers were enough to completely isolate my music from semi-silent rooms up to middle level noise. Just thought it was a nice feature.
The PRODJ100 have crystal clear sound, great bass, sleek design, small ear cups but still deliver, a flexible cord that can be extended a great...Read more

Best headphones under $100,

My goal was to find the best headphones under $100. I tried the Audio Technica ATH-M30, Shure SRH-240, Sony MDR-V600 and Koss UR55, before deciding on the DJ100s.
At first I avoided any headphone designed for DJs, thinking they would have exaggerated bass. But since these were priced right and had good ratings on Amazon, I browsed through the reviews. Most people said they had decent bass but also great mids and highs.
Fortunately my local Best Buy had them in stock. I picked up a pair and tried them out.
Quite simply, they are outstanding. The other four pairs I tried were all closed or sealed cans, and all had that "canned" sound, like listening in a small, enclosed space instead of in open air. I don't know if the DJ100s are considered open or closed. They look closed. Nevertheless they sound crisp and clear from bottom end to high end, and have a good "soundstage", without the canned sound. The bass is nice and punchy, just the way I like...Read more
