I recently bought these headphones due to the fact my cat managed to destroy my 60 dollar sony headphones. The sound quality of these headphones is acceptable when plugged directly into the audio source. When the headphones are put into wireless mode, the sound becomes muffled. It must be noted, however, that when testing these headphones, I was dealing with a lot of wireless devices in the immediate area (keyboard, mouse, routers, phones, and all the devices of my several neighbors.) It is quiet possible that when dealing with less interference the quality could improve.
The headphones run off of 4 AAA batteries (2 in the headphones, and 2 in the receiver), although you can use the headphones without any batteries if you are using them with a wire from the audio source. The idea of using batteries in the wireless receiver surprised me, although there are advantages to this. First off, the receiver does not take up a wall power socket and you can use it anywhere, but the...Read more

These seemed like they would offer multiple uses and the price seemed great....
Unfortunately they don't work!!!!!! Just like some of the other reviews I read I may have gotten them to work with my TV for a maximum of 4 minutes before I would lose the signal and they wouldn't work anymore....
Returned these and got a pair from radio shack for 30.00 that work perfectly.....

Love the headphones (seem to be high quality for the price). The wireless tower is cheap plastic. I finally got the thing to work for my TV, but only if running on batteries. You had to manually turn off the tower when finished with it, or it stayed on all of the time using up your batteries. This ruined its usefulness to me. So, I bought an AC power adapter for it (not included or offered as option with product).
When power adapter was used as power source for the tower, I couldn't get the headphones to tune into my TV's frequency (the radio function on the headset overpowered the TV frequency totally). Therefore, in order to use the headphones, I had to run a long cable directly from my TV to my listening location and then plug it into the headset, thus rendering the "wireless" aspect moot. Oh well, at least I got a nice pair of headphones and a new AC power adapter set out of this experience. Maybe you will have better luck.
