Comment: I use headphones for running and the average pair lasts me about one year (the jack invariably develops a short circuit - has happened will all of my phones over the years). I bought a pair of these Maxell headphones at an airport last year (chose them based on frequency range numbers) and I must say that I am very very impressed with the sound quality. A couple of weeks ago, they developed the usual short in at the jack, and I just ordered 3 pairs from Amazon (so that I'm covered for 3 years). These headphones really deliver at both ends of the spectrum. I have never heard base thru open ear headphones as these produce. Going back to my back-up headphones while waiting for my box to arrive from Amazon was a real drag. If you're in the market for a fantastic pair of low-priced headphones, they really don't come better than this. Buy 2 or 3 of these. It will be a very sad day when this product is discontinued. HB

Comment: I'm not an audiophile, but decided to buy earphones for playing music in the evening when the TV is on in the next room. I bought these phones because of their price and frequency response numbers. Once I figured out that these fit on the back of the head, I found them very comfortable. There are no provisions for size adjustment, however. If you have a head bigger or smaller than average, or lots of hair, you may have a problem adjusting these headphones for a good fit. Some headphones snag on the user's hair. I had no such problem since I have no hair.
The sound produced by these headphones is good, not fabulous but more than acceptable. For the price, they're probably as good as any in the price range. On some songs, like one by Misty Edwards, I could actually hear her taking breaths during the song. I also heard some extra instrumental sounds not evident through my computer's speakers.
Voices have good quality with these headphones, but sometimes voices are overwhelmed by the instruments.
So far sounds have been clear and crisp with no static. Volume is adjusted with a lever on the headphone cord. Looking for concert hall quality sound? Pass on these. If you're just looking for a decent pair of headphones for a reasonable price, these may satisfy.

Comment: I won these headphones at the Maxell tent at Summerfest and they have far exceeded my expectations. Excellent frequency response from booming lows to crisp highs. The 105dB sensitivity rating is no joke. Easily one of the best open-air headphones I've ever used (and over $100 less than the few that exceeded). Sound is comparable to my go-to pair of (originally $80, now much less) JBL Reference 410's.
