Summary: Love it 2008-02-25
Comment: I bought this clock before deploying in '04 and it lasted much longer than expected. It withstood three deployments to the Middle East and a dozen + camping trips. I had no problem with it in temperatures from -20 to 140 despite a constant barrage of fine sand that destroyed my other electronic items. It even lasted through being dropped several times. Several plus one was too many however.

Comment: I travel every week and really like this alarm clock. It is great to have a built-in flashlight. I use this alarm clock 4 nights a week and frequently use the flashlight feature. I have had the clock for more than 1 year and have never replaced the batteries. I am buying another one for a gift. The only drawback is that you have to remove the back panel to change the alarm time.

Summary: Don't buy - drains batteries 2007-01-17
Comment: I got this clock for Christmas and put in brand new batteries. A week later the batteries were drained. I tried a new set of batteries - again, maximum life was one week. I didn't use the light except to make sure it worked the rest of the time it sat on the counter in the bathroom. I emailed Brookstone asking if I just had a bad item or if the product was just poorly engineered. Their only response was a canned return policy. And of course I can't return it now since the original packaging is long gone. I will never buy another Brookstone branded product.
