2.0 out of 5 stars Great bass but terrible built quality, February 3, 2009

This headphone has one of the great bass among the DJ style headphones but it does not provide good high-pitch sound. Good recommendation for those of who loves R&B, Rap or Soul. Not suitable for Rock and Metal.

Update: I have been using this model since November and within the 3 months the speaker part got loose and almost got detached from the headband. Meanwhile, my other headphone from different manufacturer did not experience any built quality issue whatsoever. I do not know the quality issues involving Panasonic because this product was the first product I purchased from the maker but I don't think I will buy another Panasonic products.

1.0 out of 5 stars cheap plastic crap, December 12, 2008

Broke within two days of opening the box. what broke, specifically, was the little plastic part that held the phone to the headband; it cracked so the cup could bend out away from your ear instead of sitting snug. I bought these "DJ" headphones (with carrying pouch!) specifically to be able to transport them in my backpack to school and work (work on a computer, like to listen). THEY BROKE WITHIN 2 DAYS!!

Plus the sound wasn't that great (the bass sounds rattly, if that makes sense), and they weren't that comfortable. I'm kinda glad they were defective so I didn't have to keep them. for the money, I'd recommend the Sony MDR-V150 Monitor Series Headphones with Reversible Earcups, which i am still using, despite having bend the band from too much backpack use (why i buyed foldable phones), they STILL work better (and more...Read more

2.0 out of 5 stars Decent Consumer Headphones, But NOT Suited For DJ'ing, June 7, 2010

Do NOT buy Panasonic's marketing hype - these are completely unsuitable for DJ's. There are cords coming out of BOTH earpieces, not just one side, as should be the case for on-shoulder monitoring. The cables are molded together at a Y-junction just a foot or two below the earpieces, meaning that the cord will ALWAYS be in your way when leaning over a DJ mixer. And the "extension" cable is held in place solely by the friction of the 1/8" jack-and-socket; you'll unplug yourself every time when you accidentally snag the badly-designed cable with your hands/CD's/mixer knobs/etc. I'd be very, VERY hesitant to gig with these.
Which is a shame, because for the casual listener, these are decent-sounding, comfortable headphones, and the real metal fasteners give the appearance of a much higher-priced product. But Panasonic should STOP advertising these as "DJ Headphones." You're better off with some cheap (but correctly designed) knock-off by Behringer or Gemini.
