Philips In-Ear Headphones Insert Type Rich Bass SHE9550/28 (Black)

Let me just say that recently I had 3 in-ear headphones become completely useless for me because the right ear phone blew out. It might have also been do to coiling my wires too tight. I picked these headphones up from Costco for 29 bucks in a 2pack! I really kind of ignored the fact that they were bass boosted, because usually when I see that it's just a cheap gimmick.

It wasn't until I brought these home and started trying them that I realized the bass from these headphones were awesome. I listen to a lot of hip hop and RnB, and it is really hard to find good, cheap bass heavy headphones that seal out the sound. Sure enough the impedance level on these headphones are actually as low as 6 Hz.

What I like most is the rubberized case that is provided with the package it actually solves my problem of coiling! maybe now I won't blow out the right earpiece from now on. Traveling with these protected is now easier too.

These philips rich bass headphones are amazing. I have owned JVC Marshmallows, Skullcandy ink'd and Skullcandy Titans in the past. I'm a big fan of the insert type ear buds with the silicone tips. All other ear buds hurt my ear after a couple hours of use and headphones just don't deliver the pure isolated sound I like.

I decided to buy these after my Skullcandy Titans broke from stepping on them while skating. The titans list price is $40 but I got them for $25 on amazon. I would also recommend the Titans because they have similar sound quality and look cool.

Anyways back to the subject. The Philips rich bass ear buds attracted me because of the "Rich Bass" in the name. A friend had purchased these before I did and they do indeed have amazingly rich bass. I listen to a lot of heavy bass music (Electro, House, Dubstep, etc...) and these blow the Skullcandy away in the bass department.

To start, I'm an true "audio professional" in that I have made a very descent living in pro-audio as my sole profession for the last 24 years. I was able to do this because I have been blessed with good ears. I personally own many pro level headphones in and out of my personal studio that cost serious money. But when I listen to my portables on-the-go I need something that sounds great, isolates external sound, and is comfortable but is low enough in cost to be considered disposable. So if its lost or stolen it wouldn't be considered a big deal. As far as all the inexpensive earplug type headphones the model Philips She9550 should be considered a best buy. So little money for such good sound. That why I consider it deserves 5 stars for this product category.
The negative reviews about poor bass, no highs etc are probably due to defective units, cheap Chinese counterfeits, or owners that like to whine about $14 headphones. Don't believe their reviews. My genuine product does...Read more
