My work at the office involves a lot of complex accounting and research. My boss encourages me to listen to music to drown out background noise. I have become an MP-3 enthusiast. The other day my favorite set of Sansa headphones conked out. I went to a nearby drugstore and found these Phillips phones, which I purchased because of the price and the promise of extra bass. The sound is incredible. It's not a booming bass, but a strong bass presence with a clear representation of the mid frequencies and even the high tones without getting brassy or tinny. These are absolutely the best earbuds I've ever used. Enclosed in the case are some stretch cushions. Be sure to put these on the phones. And, don't cram the things in your ear. The wire leading into the each bud is on an angled piece of stiff plastic slightly off-center so that the buds rest comfortably at an angle from back to front in each ear. The sound is just awesome. I plan to buy another pair soon so that I will have...Read more

They weren't worth the purchase.,

I bought these as a replacement to the other somewhat-junky Philips earbuds that were destroyed by a chair (which was my own fault). The only store close to me that sold any type of MP3 equipment was CVS. Their selection was very limited: Either the SHE2850/27 In-Ear Extra Bass headphones or the same crap ones I had purchased before. I knew not to expect amazing sound and bass when purchasing these headphones, but I expected some quality since Philips put their name on it (but then again, the previous ones I had also had their name on it).
First off, the sound quality doesn't even strike me as decent. The clarity of the sound is somewhat poor. The songs that I heard which such clarity on the Gummy earbuds was completely gone. My laptop speaker has a lot more clarity then these earbuds.
Second, the bass is horrific, and by horrific, I mean you will barely notice it. That being said, it actually had more bass than the previous set of Philips I had (which had...Read more

For its price it doesn't get any better the bass is extremely well and beats apples headphones by a mile. Like all earphones of this price you'll typically get 2-4 months of use before needing a replacement but the sound quality is extremely good. The product also comes with soft things that go around the headphones which you should put on to increase sound.
