Philips SHE5920 Virtual Surround Sound In-Ear Headphones

Comment: This is my third set of these Earbuds. They sound so good to me compared with other brands even costing more, and they fit so well and never fall out, that I just keeping replacing them. They just work - once I've modified them. Why modify them, because the 'Asymmetrical' cable design is, well 'asinine'. The first pair I bought, you couldn't tell the cable design from the packaging. When I tried to wear them, every time I turned my head I pulled the left Earbud out because it had such a short cable length, on the right side it would pull out because the cable was so long it would get caught on everything around me. I wear these constantly when walking, hiking, gardening, washing the car, working on the house - everything. So my solution was to double back and tie the right cable around the main cable below the yolk where it splits each side, so that the cable would be symmetrical - the way they should have been designed. One other criticism I have is specific to the last two pairs and the reason I had to buy this third pair which is because the reinforcement around the straight 1/8" stereo jack separated over the wire and the connection started getting stressed resulting in an intermittent signal. This was attributable to the change in design which further flaws an otherwise great product. You see I still have the first set I bought and it had a far superior 90 degree plug. Had the wire connection not started to become stressed where I had to double it back and tie it to make the Cable symmetrical, I would probably still be using that first pair. Still once modified, they sound great and stay in my ears. I'll just never understand the asymmetrical cable or the change to a straight phone jack. I'll probably keep buying these but I'd rather pay a couple dollars more and have a product that doesn't have to be replaced as often due to a poor cable design.

Comment: bottom line they dont fit human ears. You should not have to make sure headphones "fit your ears" These headphones just dont fit into anyones ears. They are terrible and one ear bud cord is much longer than the other. I kept them in case my good ear buds break but these are terrible, a strong wind pops them out of your ears. Whoever designed these needs to change careers.

Comment: I first bought these on sale as a backup pair of headphones - it took some getting used to having the earbuds in but they're great and they don't ever fall out when working out and even running/jogging. They're GREAT and I highly recommend them.

Comment: I have tried many ear buds and these cannot be beat for sound quality, fit and durability. I wear them every day in a gym where they are subject to lots of sweat and occasional abuse (tugging, getting caught in equipment etc). The first set lasted a long time until I finally loosened a wire and lost sound on one side- I bought another highly respected brand but the sound just wasn't there. Now I am on my second set and will go back to this model when I need a third set.

Comment: Some reviews on this product seem to state that bass reproduction is poor. I just bought a set of these earbuds and I can state that this simply isn't the case.

These earbuds are astonishingly sensitive to sound reproduction and offer an experience comparable to relatively high quality over the ear headphones. Bass is more than adequate, however this may require adjustment from your particular music player. In fact the earbuds offer such clear sound reproduction that they often expose flaws in some source recordings that you can't hear with inexpensive earbuds. On top of this they seem to reduce my mp3 player's innate tendency to sound tinny, and are reasonably effective at blocking external sound, though not completely. Also they're really comfortable.

This is an excellent product. Now I don't have to compromise between quality audio and carrying my music on the go.
