Summary: Try the cheaper antenna first 2008-11-22
Comment: Bought a $40 antenna (that would have cost $80 at local big box stores) and then decided, just out of blue, to give this antenna a shot.
I live in a smaller (200K population metro area) midwest city where the transmitters are about 15-30 miles away by air. I hooked this antenna up and my weakest signal with a Dish over-the-air box is 80% for ALL my local high def stations. This is not the ultimate antenna but it works for most applications for price (about 1/3 the cost of most you find online). Be sure to buy it online too, because it's twice as expensive at local bigger box stores.
Some comments here that the antenna has to be assembled are true. But come on, it's 3 small screws that line up with the 'wings' of the antenna - no big deal. Very simple. It also has a small hole to hang it on a hook but you can tuck this antenna away in the back of the flat panel or in the back of a cabinet very easily.

Summary: Annoying to assemble 2008-11-14
Comment: Annoying to assemble, more annoying to disassemble to return because of it's total uselessness. Made of cardboard and a few other useless objects. Do not waste your time.

Summary: Worst Ever !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2008-11-04
Comment: This has to be the worst antenna I have ever used. Sure it looks nice, and I was fooled be its sleek design and empty promises. First off this antenna has to be assembled, you have to unscrew part of it and nothing wants to stay in place. The screws are tiny and you have to place your fingers over them to keep them in the housing so the antenna wings can be aligned properly. And if that can't be any worst the reception is horrible! I got nothing but snow on my TV and the few channels I was able to get only where able to maintain a frozen picture and touchy sound. I finally broken down and bought the paddle style RCA for about twenty dollars more and I've never been happier.
Oh, and if your thinking that the reason this antenna didn't work was because I live in a rural area, it's not. I live only 5 minutes from Boston I shouldn't have to have an amplified antenna.
Just Stay Away From This Product!!!
