Let me first say that I have used many over the ear headsets of Sennheiser such as the Sennheiser PXC 250 Active Noise Canceling Headphones so this was the first in ear type I tried. I compared it to the other three pair I had laying nearby in a head to head, or ear to ear, comparison.
The version number was a bit confusing since these are CX 215 and there was already the Sennheiser CX300-B In-Ear Stereo Headphone out on the market. It just confuses consumers to seemingly go backwards in numbers. Having expressed that, lets talk function and features.

I really must start with: I am not a headphone expert. But I am a person who flies 75k miles a year, and watches all of my fellow passengers lug around enormous headphones that are larger than my purse. Obnoxious - I swore I would never do it - I have much more precious cargo to carry on than big headphones. Then this year, my opinion started changing after long flights overseas listening to snoring, babies crying - you name it. So I decided to bite the bullet and purchase the big ole headphones, you know the ones.
That was until I stumbled upon a local news program reviewing headphones - all of the best noise reduction, sound quality - and they suggested this pair. I went online and looking at the cost, thought there was no way at this price these would be worth it. Reality was I had prepared myself to spend $350. But the hope of having tiny little heaadphones that fit in a pocket was enough for me to try...

About a year ago I did a comparison review of several different brands of earphones and sadly for Sennheiser, they came in dead last with what I thought was pretty dull sound. Well, I'm happy to report that I was pleasantly surprised with these. They sound bright and crisp and the bass is really nice. I really like it when a product improves so much and I highly recommend these amazing earphones. This is a wonderful price for the gorgeous sound you get.
