Comment: Great headphones, very satisfied with this purchase. I would recommend these to anyone. I wear them to the gym and on the train. Sound quality is excellent and the headphones are not so heavy and large as to be a nuisance.

Summary: Solid sound in a small well-built package. 2010-06-26
Comment: I am not an audiophile by any standard, but I know what I like when it comes to sound. I had been researching headphones for months and months (it's my nature to research things to death) and had finally settled on these headphones. It seemed like everybody was complaining about its lack of bass and the irritating inline volume adjuster. Others were lamentating its inability to sit on your ears effectively to produce good sound. Still, others said it made their ears hot or that they couldn't have them on for more than a few hours.

But, I'll tell you this. Have you ever bought something and then when you got and started playing with it you said to yourself; "Man, I am so glad I bought this!"?

This is what happened to me.

These headphones have plenty of bass and responsiveness whether I have them plugged into my old 5th gen video iPod or my TV for late-night viewing or the computer for game-playing. I wear them regularly when I am working out, cleaning the house, or driving all over the DFW Metroplex. I can wear them for 3 to 4 hours at a time with no ear fatigue. They stay securely on my head and ears regardless of any activity. My ears do sweat a bit, but I expect that when I'm outside working or exercising in 95+ degree weather. The inline volume adjuster seems a little weird at first, but I have come to appreciate the added volume control as well its clip which keeps the wire out of my way when I am doing physical things. I was a little skeptical of the closed, on-ear design, but it works wonderful with this model. I hear just enough of the outside world to not lose touch or get run over. But, it still provides plenty of intimacy with the music or podcasts. And, NOBODY can hear what I am listening to even if they are sitting right next to me.

Again, I am no sound expert and I'm sure there are other great headphones, but these are a great buy for the money. Plenty of bass response, lightweight, fit securely on your head and ears, wear them for hours without realizing it....all in a nice, foldable design that's easy to carry around.

Don't be scared.....buy a pair and you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Summary: Just What I Was Looking For 2010-05-25
Comment: A couple years ago I desperately wanted to upgrade from the painfully sounding and uncomfortable ear-buds that came with my iPod Nano, and later, my iPod Touch. After reading tons of reviews online, I went with Sennheiser neckband headphones that blew me away. Unfortunately, a small cable attached to the left earpiece split and I lost sound. I went with a pair of stylish WeSC headphones afterward, which is supposedly made of Sennheiser parts, but they failed to deliver anything except muddy bass.

After a year of disappointing WeSCs I came back to full-fledged Sennheiser's, these, just a week ago. I wanted closed headphones for car trips and campus media labs, libraries, and general use, so I wouldn't disturb others without sacrificing volume and quality.

Upon opening the box and trying them out, I was initially upset that they didn't seem to sound as good as my first pair of Sennheiser's, but after a few days to break them in, they are just fantastic. I couldn't be much happier. I compared it to my WeSCs and they were easily clearer. They also sounded a lot better than my computer speakers and TV.

Comfort-wise, these are very, very light and cushy. I wore them for 4 to 4 ½ hours before feeling slight discomfort.

The only downside is that some of my older music is shown for what it really is: low quality. Most of my library is rock, and a few of my older tracks from poor CD rips sound worse than others at the higher volume levels.

Bass is fine. It may seem disappointing at first, but I am used to it, and now enjoy it. It's not bass heavy, so if you really want it, these aren't for you.

Other music I listen to, such as dance and some indie and electronic tracks sound absolutely gorgeous.

Summary: Can't replace my PX100s 2010-05-10
Comment: Since stock of my aged but beloved Sennheiser PX 100 headphones fell to a point that vendors wanted twice what I paid for them two years ago, I thought for a few dollars more I would try a more advanced version in the PX 200 II. Their excellent build quality and reasonable sound isolation do not make up for the fact that they sound worse than the external speaker for my iPod Touch. To prove to myself I'm not just an audio snob (moving from a Nomad to a Zune to an iPod was hard enough over the years) I let my wife try the 200s then the 100s after which she inquired, "Where was the rest of the music?" I felt the same as I madly looked around on the inline volume control for a "make the sound not suck" switch I failed to find. I returned the PX 200s and I'm taking much better care of my PX 100s.

Summary: Very Pleasantly Surprised 2010-04-25
Comment: I bought these for both my computer and IPod. I was taking the family on a long trip and wanted something I was comfortable with on a plane etc. I also wanted them when I am at home listening to my music. I have been doing this for a couple of years using the standard ear buds. These headphones did two huge things for me. First, they are very comfortable compared to the earbuds. This alone makes them great. Second, the quality seems awesome to me. You will obviously not get the same experience as a full size set of headphones but they sound every bit what I hoped for when I purchased them. I now find myself using them almost every night either listening to music or more often, on Netflix.
In my "old" days when I was hooked on trying o find great sound, these may not have cut it but now that I am a little older and not trying to blow out my ears, these work great. I consider them a great buy.
The only negative I can think of is they are a little clumsy and dont have a build that makes me believe they will last a long time. Only time will tell but so far they are wonderful!
