So I bought these and they were alright. I think i could have put the money I spent on them for better use but I needed some earbuds quick. The noise cancelation is semi. This is because the bass only works on one side! I hope this is a defect on mine because i wouldnt want everyone to suffer the same annoying pain but when the bass works it works nicely. But they only work on one side which is a bummer.

I've read other reviews on the Internet. The main complaint was that these H4's had too much bass. Well, so much for credible reviews. I paid five bucks for these in a Job Lot store. With my Nano - regardless of EQ settings, these sound tinny and have no bass reponse at all. They do block out ambient noise - so perhaps they would be good for audiobooks on a bus or train. They look like the expensive in-ear headphones, but don't be fooled.
