The construction and accessories are a step up, with a better case and more tips (including 3 sets of foam tips). They have a thicker, more sturdy-feeling cable, although the material feels cheaper.
They came with the medium foam tips installed, and when I tried to swap them I found it to be really, really difficult. I had to twist and pull so hard that I was sure the foam would break. Miraculously it didn't and I was finally able to try them out, first with the large silicon tips (these made the best seal in my ear) and then the foam. As other reviewers have said, the low end was severely lacking. Rock, electronica, and especially metal were stripped of their usual power. It seems like almost every pair of earphones short of the Super.Fi 5EB has a bunch of reviews complaining about a lack of bass (even the EX75s, which brag of "wide dynamic range"), but trust me, I'm not a bass...Read more By lokin (GA United States) - See all my reviews This review is from: Shure SE110K Black Sound Isolating Earphones (Electronics) Although they do have a solid clean sound I would not recommend them for rock or electronic music. I tried them out against my current ipod headphones and the only real difference is the sound cancellation and I am a musician of 15 years. Personally, I found the ear bud style hurts my ears after listening for an hour or more. They also come with squeezable earplug style cones (squeeze em and then allow them to expand in your ear canal to fill up) which I kept having a problem with the left one falling out all the time.
In the office there isnt enough noise for the cancellation aspect to matter, maybe if you were traveled on an airplane a lot they would be good but personally I would just cough up the extra 20 bucks for the bose. At the gym I found them annoying as you can "hear" the chord rub against you as you move also due to the in ear bud style. When I was at home I plugged them into my mixing board and cranked up a game that I knew had great sound...Read more Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Shure SE110K Black Sound Isolating Earphones (Electronics) The sound of these buds is good but the over ear wearing is not very comfortable. Bringing the cable back around and to one side of your head tends to pull one of the ear bud out of one ear. If you are not comfortable and familiar with the over the ear use you might want to consider another brand. |
