Summary: Not all 2.5" 4 Segment inputs are the same! 2008-10-20
Comment: There wasn't much information out there, but I only knew that I had a 4 contact 2.5" input for my Motorola Q9c and Samsung A900; the headphone/mic packed in with the Samsung has a 2.5" 4-contact input. Unfortunately, the Shure MPA-2B while fitting fine into the 2.5" jack does not offer stereo sound or mic input--clearly some of the contacts are not matched properly. As for why mfrs wouldn't standardize this is beyond me, but unfortunately, the net result is that I've spent $40 on something that doesn't work with my phone.
This product gets another star because the build quality looks solid and strong. If it works for your phone, it's a nice product.

Summary: Just plain works. 2008-10-18
Comment: Works as advertised! ...and not just for the Treo (tested with my 700wx), it works great with my Nokia E71 (Nokia E71 Unlocked Cell Phone with 3.2 MP Camera, 3G, Media Player, GPS - U.S. Version with Warranty (Gray)) as well. The 3.5mm connection really opens up a lot of possibilities - I've used this for earphone connections as well as making a makeshift speakerphone with my car's aux input.
