After I bought a pair I got totally hooked up. Now all my other earphones/headphones sound so muffled. Don't expect boomy bass from these but the mid and highs and incredibly crystal clear. The trick to receive proper bass response is to make sure that the earphones are snugly fit and sound is fully insulated. I recommend using the memory foam tips - squeeze them well and then wear your earphones. I am rediscovering my song collection on iPod all over again - so many sounds were hidden! I would give these 10 stars if I could 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful: By Code Monkey (Los Angeles) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Shure SCL3-W Sound Isolating Earphones (White) (Electronics) If you are looking for good isolation headphones, these outperform the highest rated active noise canceling (ANC) headphones, hands down. The bass response on the Shure's are great for the small form factor. This design is based on the same one that pros use for in ear monitoring on stage - but this is pricepointed for the consumer (yes still expensive). I bought this for my spouse based on the performance of the pro pair I have to replace her ANC headphones. They are much much smaller and compact than the ANC headphones.
Be careful that you don't bend or flex the wires too much. In my pro pair, the wire inside the housing busted after a couple years of regular use. Can be fixed with a snip and a solder, but who wants to have to do that for how much you pay for these things. Aside from that, the connections to the earpieces themselves is solid. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful: By TONY "TPAC" (WILLIAMSBURG VA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Shure SCL3-W Sound Isolating Earphones (White) (Electronics) If anyone's looking for a bargain in high-quality earphones, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Shure SCL3's. At roughly the same price as the (over-rated) Etymotic Er-6's, not only do you get a more detailed, rich sound, but it actually has some bass! Nice, clean, tight bass. As some reviewers have mentioned, getting a good fit with these seems to be a little more difficult than it is with other models, but once you get it just right, I think you'll agree that it's worth the slight inconvenience. My collection of earphones incudes the following:
1) Etymotic Er-6 2) Creative EP-630 3) Ultimate Ears Metro.fi 150 4) Sennheiser CX-300 5) Audio Technica ATH-CK7 Compared to these earphones, the Shures are the clear winner. I've read that the reason the white model is half the price of the black one, is because it's a clearance item. If this is true, you should jump on this bargain while you can. I'm seriously considering buying an...Read more |
