Summary: Great for the price ($76 on Amazon) 2008-09-23
Comment: These headphones are great for the cost (again, I spent $75 on Amazon.com) and I'm happy with the decision. They produce a cleaner, crisper sound than the V-Moda Vibes and Skull Candy isn't even in the same league.
The people who complained about a "tinny" sound or no bass, did NOT have them in correctly. I can't emphasize the importance of proper insertion enough. It's a bit difficult at first to properly insert them, but if you follow the included diagram, and get a good seal (included foam tips are the best), It quickly becomes second nature getting them in and out after the first few tries. the sound is tough to beat in this price range. I can't turn the volume more than 3/4 the way up on my iphone because the sound is too loud. The highs are good, and the bass (especially with the volume higher) is more than good enough for rock, hip-hop, electronic, etc; as well as the classics.
As far as comfort, they're impressive; especially when considering that these are larger than some of the competitors (Jays, V-Moda, Skull Candy, ER, etc). I've fallen asleep with them still in (and i don't do that easily) and I can run with them or bike with them. The important thing (again) is proper insertion, AND put the cord over your ear (they're designed to be used this way). It's easy to get used to, it's not hard to do, and you CAN use them without doing this, but they fall out easier.
They are certainly durable. The hard plastic and thicker cord make it tough to tangle and tough to break. mine have taken some abuse and survived.
The bottom line is that these are a good quality headphone for someone looking for an upgrade over their stock packaged headphones. If you're an audiophile looking for perfect sound at a lower price, these are probably not for you, the SE 210s from Shure (about $70 more from amazon) are probably a better bet as are the 2nd step up, Etymonic Research pair.
I'm quite happy with the performance at the price, and i think most people will be if they follow the instructions and use them properly.

Summary: Great, but not to take in/out frequently 2008-04-28
Comment: These sound great with the expanding foam inserts. They block out sound really well. So much so that you can't use them and function if someone wants to talk to you sporadically. They stay put really well, better than any others I've tried. Really good for workouts, loop around ears, to give extra assurance against accidental pull out. I found myself going back to $10 Sony's for everyday use, so I can hear around them a little bit. I would buy them again, though.

Summary: Great sound -- LOUSY construction 2008-04-27
Comment: The problem is that although they sound is great, the material quality -- especially the cord is REALLY poor given the high price. It is ESPECIALLY bad where the cord meets the ear phones itself...this is where it will take the most daily wear. It WILL break eventually. It is almost as if it has been designed to fail so that you will eventually buy another pair at a ridiculous high price.
Furthermore the ear plugs seems to be designed so that they FALL OFF easily so that you will lose them and have to buy replacements from SHURE at --- suprise!--- a ridiculously high price again. 2 cents worth of material for 10 bucks!.
Recommedation: NEVER AGAIN!

Summary: Comfortable but absolutely no bass and sounds like a cheap pair 2008-04-13
Comment: I rarely do reviews, but all the reviews I read on this product were very good reviews and I bought a pair. I'm absolutely shocked that anyone could rate the 110's higher than a 3 star. This is the first product I've bought on Amazon that I had to return (not Amazon's fault). I read all the online reviews that said the SE110 was essentially almost as good as the SE310s. That is ABSOLUTELY NOT TRUE. These headphones have no bass at all. I turned up the EQ on my iPOD all the way to put the most bass on and it sounded like cheap headphones with no bass - even turned up.
The SE110s are VERY comfortable and from that perspective, they're a 5. They're a very well constructed product as well. However, I can't get over the terrible bass which makes the over sound quality very poor.
If you're only going to listen to piano or vocals, these are probably good. However, even for piano sounds, you lose the low tones. Very, very disappointed.
After I returned the SE110s I bought the SE310s and am MUCH happier. I'm very surprise Shure would put a product like this on the market.

Summary: Nothing to complain about 2008-04-02
Comment: Pros
+ Isolates sound very well. First day I used it, co-workers were already irritated that they were calling my name and I couldn't hear them. Excellent, now I can zone while I work!
+ The short cable + extension cable allows this earphone to be used with an armband iPod or your desktop computer without dangling cables
Cons
- The cost - sound quality wise, I've had something similar for half the price by Sony. I expected a wowing difference at $100.
