Summary: Cable induced microphonics are way too intrusive 2008-11-30
Comment: Be warned that whenever the cord moves, you will hear it through these ear phones; it really intrudes upon the music being played with your portable player, such as an ipod. As a result I could not enjoy any positive aspects that these ear phones possess.

Summary: Great sound, poor quality wires 2008-11-25
Comment: These headphones have great quality sound for the price you buy them. They're a bit better than the sound from Skullcandy's smokin' buds (which are a REAL bargain when it comes to price and the quality you get). I happen to be a fan of skullcandy headphones, but I'm kind of shocked at the quality of the wire. The smokin' buds that I used to have had a double cord. They were very durable, and even through wrapping them around my iPod, they lasted me for about a year- probably would have lasted even longer if I hadn't wrapped them around my iPod. Anyhow, I wouldn't even dream of wrapping these 'phones 'round my iPod. From the start, if I would bump the bottom of the cord (even very lightly) against something, the sound in the right ear crackles, and occasionally stops. I have to position my iPod in my purse a certain way, so that this doesn't happen with the cord. The "old-fashioned" double-cord had gotten the idea right. MP3 players are perfectly compatible with them, and they shouldn't have come up with cords that try to imitate apple's cheap earbud's cords (they lasted for only about 3 months for me) I'm practically waiting for these ones that I bought to break...it's only a matter of time, even though I'm handling them very carefully. After they do, I think I'd switch back to the smokin' buds...unless they changed them too...

Summary: feedback from the wire! avoid!! 2008-11-22
Comment: As others have noted, these earbuds have issues with feedback from the wire. It is just as annoying and distracting as the others say. I wish I had read these reviews before I bought them. I don't know what the guys at The Absolute Sound (which gave these buds an excellent review) could have been thinking. Avoid these earbuds!! Yeah, they sound pretty good - if you're sitting absolutely motionless. But if you move at all, if the wire even brushes your shirt, you'll hear it.

Summary: Titan Earbuds 2008-11-14
Comment: I recently bought the Titan earbuds as an upgrade to my ink'd earbuds. I like them. the fit into the ear well, they come with silicon and foam earbud replacements. They sound good with both of my ipods. the only complaint i have (very minor) is that i ordered the macred in order to match the ipod case i bought that is black with red stripes, and the mac red is more of a dark fushia color. I'm over it now...

Summary: Great sound for the money 2008-11-12
Comment: I've listened to a lot of in-ear headphones in just about every price range. My ears are pretty sensitive and I've never found a pair that I can wear more than a few minutes without discomfort - until I found these. I use the standard silicone buds and they are pretty comfortable. To the user who said they hurt his ears after about an hour, I would agree. But I would also add that you aren't going to find any in-ear headphones that don't hurt your ears after an hour of listening, not to mention that keeping headphones in your ears that long can put you at risk of permanent hearing damage, so be careful.

I consider myself an audiophile and I would say that the quality of sound from the Titans is very impressive. I've never heard headphones in this price range with this much dynamic range. I don't find the highs to be tinny or metallic at all - just very crisp and accurate. The bass is outstanding. In fact, when listening to tracks with these on it's easy to imagine yourself sitting in an audio-controlled room listening to the most warm, dynamic and accurate monitors you've ever heard. If there's any weakness at all it's in the mid-range, but that doesn't bother me at all. And if mid-range is your preference you can easily use your amplifier to adjust the levels as needed.

I agree with others about the noisy connector cord. That's the one complaint I have that would keep me from giving these headphones five stars. If you are more or less immobile while listening, then it's not a problem. But if you are active while using these you will hear the cord when it bounces around, although only at lower volumes. When I turn up the volume a little louder I don't hear it. In fact, over the summer I would wear them while mowing the lawn and they stifle the sound of the lawnmower very well. Another effect you will notice is that between songs or in quiet passages the cord and buds are so sensitive that you can hear yourself breathing, which can be annoying. But I've experienced this effect with other in-ear headphones as well.

All-in-all, this is a great product and I don't think you will find better-sounding headphones for $40. They look great, too. I read a reputable review of them not long ago that rated the audio quality as high or higher than some brands costing well over $100. I would agree, and even add that they aren't far off some that I've heard in the $200-plus range. Very impressive audio. I would not hesitate to purchase these again and, in fact, I plan to. My brother and brother-in-law will be getting them for Christmas.
