If you're familiar with high-end IEM earphones (i.e. "in ear monitor" headphones), you know that size has little to do with price and performance. Even when it comes to the tips that are so crucial to finding your "right" size, there's a requirement of time, experimentation and expense. And it's not unusual to find that the mere tips--not the earphones themselves--can go for five or more bucks a pair, especially if you're one of those fastidious listeners who insists on the foam tips made by Comply.
Sony claims that they're IEM phones sound best with genuine Sony tips--the hybrid silicon variety (which means they're made of a more rubbery quality than foam, and are two-layered--an outer soft layer for sealing the space around the ear, and an inner stiffer layer for conducting the sound directly to the ear canal). For exact fitting both ears the product is great but maybe less sizes
at lower price (3 instead of 4,1-3 vrs 2-4 packaging choices perhaps)
