These super-light, ear-bud headphones weigh a mere six grams (.18 ounces.) They are the perfect headphone for those who relish lightweight, quality headphones. The silent cap confines the music to the listener's ear and away from those in the immediate area, a plus for those using the headphones in the coffee shop or library. The earphones are also open-air, meaning they allow ambient noises to enter the ear; this translates to a safer headphones, as the listener will be aware of horns, whistles and shouts. A key feature to these headphones is the in-line volume control. This volume control is a rotary/slide design and allows for handy volume adjustment. The MDR-E829V's deliver a quality sound, even with their small size. The headphones use sixteen millimeter drive units for a deep bass and clear treble. Sony also uses neodymium magnets which provide more energy per ounce than other conventional magnets. The PET diaphragm gives the headphones a high rigidity for minimum distortion. Finally, Sony's Acoustic Twin Turbo circuit achieves high sonic output by utilizing sound chamber and duct technology. The cord is one meter long (3.3 feet) for ample range of movement. The housing is a modern, hi-tech, black and silver metallic finish. The compact winding case stores the ear-buds and cord when not needed; its small size fits nicely in a purse or back pocket. Summary: Good Buds 2008-11-29
Comment: I am pleased with the sound quality of this product. These earphones are definitely worth the money for the performance you get. The only down side might be the volume control is a little difficult for big fingers to manipulate. Overall I would recommend them.

Summary: Audio for travel 2008-11-02
Comment: I bought the Sony MDR-E829V earbuds to replace old some old cheapy one, and The Sony earbuds were 200 times better than the ones I had before and was worth price, and if these could last longer than a couple of years I will be a customer for life because I use these headphones with my I-pod which I use when I travel to work or fun, everyday.

Summary: Excellent Product for Less... 2008-08-08
Comment: I have been using "MDR-E829V - In-Ear Portable Headphones w/Integrated Case by Sony" for a few years now. With average daily use of about 3 to 5 hours, one MDR-E829V will last approximately 6 months (If not kept in the portable case that comes with each MDR-E829V Headphone). I buy this product not just for its low cost but because of high quality sound (Great Bass by the way), and, my favorite feature, the in-line volume control which you may not appreciate until you actually start using to control the volume. The in-line volume control on the MDR-E829V is not the big/bulky type... it's a very tiny remote right on the wire with a very tiny wheel... enough to increase or decrease the volume... max to mute, and does not put extra strain of weight on the earplugs, so don't worry, they will not get pulled out of your ears every few minutes with any extra weight. After about 6 months of use (5 most likely if you're very ignorant), the in-line volume control starts to have problem, static (I'd recomend whenever you're done using to your MDR-E829V, put it back into its storage case to get the maximum value and life out of this product).

Summary: Highly Recommended For Jazz and Old School 2008-06-19
Comment: Wow, didn't know what I was missing. I love jazz and old school,I was missing the mid rage and bass. These are terrific no matter what music you listen to. The volume control on the cord keeps me from digging in my pocket to correct loud or low tunes. Comfortable fit in ears. My daughter has been using these for years, I'm just catchin up. Never too late or too old.
