Summary: My search is over... 2008-11-21
Comment: My search is over...I had to find ear buds that don't fall out of my ear during my workout and deliver a full range of sound. I thought the stock iPod buds were fine, but I knew I could find a better sounding set of ear phones/buds out there. I do care about the sound quality of my music.
After trying the VModa Bass, Sony MDR EX75, there is no comparison. I was giving up hope that I could find a decent sounding ear bud under $100. The VModa and EX75 both sounded distorted with no low end. I was very surprised they received high ratings on Amazon. I have a Nano 4g, so I was started to think it was the player, but I did not want to give up hope...
Let me tell you...these ear buds deliver an unbelievable range of sound, clear highs and lots of clean low end. I think the key factor is the large size driver (16mm on this one, most others are 8mm). These ear buds stay in my ear, without falling out. One little negative is the relatively long chord (3.9 ft). The higher end Sony ear buds have a shorter chord, with an optional extender.
When you factor in the price point, I think we have a winner.

Summary: Way Unimpressed 2008-10-16
Comment: Uncomfortable with bad sound. They say they boost bass, but my cheap stock ear buds that came for free with my Blackberry have better sound with clearer bass. The mids are way too strong and the highs have some sort of strange roll off that makes them sound muffled.
Take your ear buds that you have on now and hold them about half an inch from your ears. That's what these sound like.

Summary: a Best Buy! 2008-09-26
Comment: These cost me $15. They sound better than my $25 Philips and have better bass than my $100+ Shures. I had two concerns about buying these (or any other) earphones: Sound and fit. Would they sound better than a tin can? Would they stay in my ears during workouts? The bass is great. I even cranked up the sound and the bass held and didn't begin to sound tinny the way it would with most earbuds. I can't believe you get bass this good for $15. I also tried them out with classical music and the sound was as good as or better than any other earbuds I've had. These fit well in my ear. I tried shaking them out, but they stayed put. One thing I noticed is that if an earbud is not seated properly, the sound in that ear is diminished. When I repositioned it, the sound was better balanced with rich sounds in both ears.
Finally, I found that I needed to turn down the volume from where I was forced to set it with other buds. I turned up the sound with the Philips earbuds so I could hear all ranges, but that's not necessary with these Sony earbuds. The sound is clear at lower volumes.

Summary: BUY!!! BUY!!!! BUY!!!!! 2008-06-23
Comment: I purchased these to replace my ipod earphones and I must say that this was the best $15 I've spent in a long time!!! Crisp highs, nice bass. I am an audiophile and these probably sound better than any of those $100+ headphones you can get.
