Comment: Great sounding, light weight, folder, but a little uncomfortable to the ears after worn awhile...

Summary: Hurts and rubs your upper ear 2008-05-26
Comment: I can't believe all the raving reviews.. The design of this headset inevitably rubs both your ears where the plastic piece literally pinches your skin after a while.
I think the cord is sturdy and well designed. They are light and the sound is okay.. but like one reviewer said: "The part that slips over the ears rubbed just enough to make my ear red and uncomfortable."
Certainly with exercise and all the running or jumping and sweating it is VERY IRRITATING to the ear skin.
I'D NOT RECOMMEND THIS HEADSET.

Summary: Great value and very comfortable! 2008-03-10
Comment: Full disclosure: I'm not an audiophile. I love music, and I even dabble in classical guitar, but I'm not the best at discerning differences between sound quality of headphones.
The foam on my old Sony street style headphones was starting to wear (after like a year of use), so I picked up these from Fry's with much skepticism. They looked a little funky and without the soft ear clip my old headphones had, I wasn't sure how they'd stay on because my primary use for these headphones was the gym. I was quite impressed though. They're minimalistic in their size, they fit without irritating my ears at all, and they're easy to throw in your backpack and not worry about them. My ears may be bigger than usual (the iPod earbuds don't fit me), but these headphones fit nicely.
The sound quality, to me, is very nice. When I first put them on, I really liked the sound. It's definitely good enough for the gym, my primary use.
I recommend these headphones for use on-the-go, at the gym, or on a jog. They're comfortable, surprisingly stylish (I had to look twice in the mirror the first day I tried them out), and extremely portable.

Summary: Advise for Eyeglass Wearers 2008-02-27
Comment: I purchased these headphones to replace an old pair of MDR-G72 folding headphones that I had for years.
I liked the concept that the headphones wrap around the back of your head AND that they fold up for easy carrying/transport.
The other thing I liked about these headphones is the Frequency Response. The Bass is very good and clear for these types of portable headphones.
HOWEVER; If you are an eyeglass wearer (depending on the type of eyeglasses you have) the MDR-G74SL's may interfere with your eyeglasses and how they rest on your ears. When I wear the headphones without my eyeglasses; the sound is even better. But with the pair of eyeglasses I wear at work; these headphones do not fit very comfortably.
The old MDR-G72's had a seperate flexible ear piece that was not part of the wrap around plastic band.

Summary: Super Comfortable 2008-02-01
Comment: Not only are these headphones cheap, but for the cheap price, they are sleek looking, great sound quality, and the best part of all...
They are so incredibly comfortable, that I dont even FEEL them sitting on my head, I could easily wear these things all day if I wanted to.
The wire wrapped in the protective mesh is just gravy.
Definitely worth the money I am super pleased with this set.
