Summary: Big, uncomfortable, mediocre sound 2010-08-17
Comment: I picked one of these up because I was tired of tripping over the headphone extension cord.

In general:

HUGE. These don't look that big from the picture but they are the biggest full size headphones I have ever seen. Way too big for me, not light or comfortable. Induced an instant headache if I tried to wear these with my glasses on, they pushed the arms of my glasses into my temples. Since I only wear glasses at night, and I only need headphones at night, this is a no win scenario.

Wireless receiver and charging dock:

The infrared wireless technology works pretty good, but you have to have a clear line of sight to the receiver. This sounds like a no brainer, but because I put it on top of rack/bookshelf my gear is in when I sat down it broke the line of sight. I had to move the receiver out to the very edge of the shelf to work... this caught my wife's attention immediately and she did not like it so "out in the open" like that. The battery life is probably ok, but I wouldn't know because I couldn't wear the things for more than an hour or two before I wanted to throw them at the wall. The charging stand/receiver is finicky about how you position the headphones on them, you have to get it just right for them to charge. Also these are a big eyesore when docked. My wife mentioned that too.

Sound quality:

Mediocre. Not much bass. The sound quality is just ok, not as good as the lightweight koss headphones I was using and went back to. Not much in the way of bass. The rumble feature is useless. What is the point of that? To trick me into thinking there is bass because the headphones are vibrating on my head? At least you can turn this off. There is a constant high pitched HISS noise when using these. If there is sound coming through at a moderate volume you don't notice it, but when volume is low it is very noticeable. The SRS surround function is weird, I didn't like it. Just added a boomy echo to the sounds. But if you don't care about sound fidelity and just want something wireless and LOUD (and these will get LOUD), and you don't wear glasses, these might be fore you.

Overview:

In short, these are not great. LOUD but mediocre sound quality and UNCOMFORTABLE, these things will PUNISH you if you wear glasses. So if you're hard of hearing and need to crank up the TV to hear it but don't want to disturb the other viewers, these might work ok. HOWEVER, there are cheaper wireless headphones out there, and I don't think these are worth $60. Sony makes a similar, cheaper pair in the $30 range, try those.

Pros :
wireless works ok (if you have line of sight to the receiver)
LOUD
rechargeable battery

Cons :
constant hissing noise
big and uncomfortable
mediocre sound quality

Mine were returned to Amazon. Thank you, Amazon, for having a very good return policy.

Comment: I bought this headphones for my TV when everyone had gone to bed. I am very pleased with the sound and comfort even for blue ray movies. Great choice...

Comment: Excellent quality, very comfortable to wear. Initially you can hear static noise but I set headphones volume low and increased volume on the stereo equipment and that solved the issue.
For games or action movies you can add vibration to increase the explosion experience! :)

Comment: This is a terrible product. I sat right in front of the transmitter and the hissing noise was overwhelming. The build of both the headphones and docking station felt cheap. And placing the headphones on the dock was a challenge. I returned these immediately.

Comment: I have these plugged in to the audio out on my 42" Vizio flat screen, you get a little hiss if you have the volume cranked up, which you really don't need to do. I can't tell you if they work better(as far as the hiss) if you have them plugged into the audio out on a home theater/stereo system like a couple reviews said, I personally think they work great. As long as there is actual audio sound and no silence and you don't have the volume on the headphones all the way up there is no hiss and they are very comfortable to wear and battery life has not been an issue in the 3 months I've been using them.
